Noseeum Bugs At Hilton Head?

Does Hilton Head have problems with the Noseeum bugs? I have never been to Vero Beach or HH and I have been interested in going. But I have read some of the threads that refer to the noseeum bugs at VB and that they are a big problem during certain times of the year. So this is really discouraging me from going to Vero. However, does HH encounter the same type of bugs or do they have something else that is just as annoying?

What time of year (month) are the bugs at their worst?

Nothing like blasting the AC- it will take them out. Its not a problem in the daytime usually. You just can't sit outside in the evening without getting attacked. July seems to be the worst time.

was at HHI from 6/28-7/5. no bugs at beach and not even any mosquitoes in the evening--we took bug spray and did not even need it once.

We were at HHI the last week in June and also brought bug spray and NEVER used it!!! Since we've been home we have had to put on the bug spray here!!! We've been having lots of mosquitos and noseeums - Yuck!

We even sat outside at night on our balcony and never got bitten at HHI!

However last year we were there second week in August and did have buggy evenings with mosquitos.

We have been to HHI three times and VB probably eight.... I have never seen the no-see-um bugs at HHI, but the mosquitoes are a real problem in the summer months... You will not have any problem if you don't sit around the grounds with ankles exposed at dusk or dawn.. Just my experience... It may be different for you... Cover up at dusk...
