Gag!
We went to dinner tonight, and as the waitress was telling us the specials, it was hard not to notice the big booger in her nose. It was making me sick. Then it caught the light and I realized it was the back to her nose ring. WTH! That is just so gross. I don't care what it is, I don't want to have to see things hanging out of my waitress's nose.

OMG! That is soooo disgusting.

I've got a story of my own for ya - My DH and I love to go to breakfast on the weekends. One morning we get this very young waitress who has what sounds like a lisp. Well, lo and behold, she decides to explain why she's having a hard time talking. She tells us she got her tongue pierced the day before. Then she proceeds to stick out her tongue and show us! :scared1:

Needless to say, we didn't go back to that restaurant again.

BTW, I love your pukie smilie! :goodvibes

Those are gross too. If you want to stick something through your tongue that's fine, but don't assume other people want to talk about it, or see it, or watch you chew on it or click it on your teeth while you talk.

There is a sub at my school with a tongue piercing. I don't understand why they allow her to have that in during the school day. It is so unprofessional.

OMG! You really made me laugh. Glad I had swallowed the Pepsi already. I'd probably have been thinking the same thing. DH probably would have made some comment about it.

I don't see what the big deal is. Just because your waitress has a nose ring doesn't mean that the food is going to have snot all over it.

I have visible tattos at work and my bosses don't care because I am an excellent employee. I think that there are more important things to worry about than how a person chooses to adorn themselves.

Of course not, but I think it looks gross to have something hanging out of your nostril especially if you are a food service worker. YMMV

I guess I shouldn't tell you where I'm pierced.:guilty:

I don't think it is a big deal. To each his own.

That's your point of view.
Mine is that if I cannot understand a waitress because she has a pierced tongue or a booger looking earring in her nose, then I won't eat at that restaurant. Who wants to eat somewhere and get grossed out?

It probably wouldn't pertain to the original post anyway, since I wasn't judging piercing, just the big honkin back sticking out of one person's nose.:goodvibes

That is your option to be grossed out but I don't get it at all. Noserings are pretty mainstream now so I am really not getting this reaction that you are having toward them.

Funny you would mention this....DH and I were out to eat at a pizza place last night and our server, who was otherwise a very pretty young woman, was wearing some kind of barbell-looking thing through her nose--through the thingie that divides the nostrils.

Now, generally speaking, I like nostril piercings with studs--gold, diamonds, etc.--I think they're kind of cute. But this thing was big, gross and ugly. I realize I'm a WAY different generation but I am wondering if there is some kind of significance to this kind of a piercing-- does it mean you like a certain kind of music, or that you hang out with a certain kind of crowd?

BTW we are all allowed to have opinions about how people adorn themselves--don't worry, it didn't affect the tip we left her ;), but I am curious if these piercings have some kind of significance.

Good employee or not, I'm talking about someone that works in an elementary school. It looks very unprofessional, especially when she holds the bar in her lips and sucks in the spit. :sad2:

That is a septum peircing and to some it is kind of a tribal thing. Some people stretch their holes there for bigger rings,etc...
