Nose rings

Add me to the guilty list:rolleyes1

As long as the piereced area isn't used to cook or serve the food, I don't think it's a big deal.

I thought all servers with pierced tongues licked your entree before serving it.:confused3:rotfl2: God only knows what the ones with pierced noses are doing.:scared:

Seriously, though, I'm not offended by what other people think of body piercings (or tattoos). I've learned to deal with the criticisms. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just wish some people weren't so judgmental.

This feels like a disagreement with my teenager. Y'all drivin'?

So all the rich people in Chattanooga are conservative?

I would say 90% of them, so that is a whole lot.You do realise that I was being general....right? Please school me some more about where I live.:lmao:

No...it means that a whole lot of conservative people in this area(I'm in the South) don't seem to have a problem with how the employees look.

How does "most of the people that shop (in a specific store) are higher income" translate into "there's a whole lot of conservatives in the area"?

The whole argument is silly. I don't see why it offends some that I thought the wad of plastic hanging out of my waitress's nose was gross. It isn't a reflection on anyone else, just her. People take things way too personally.

Call me crazy, but I trust cooks/ servers not to use their noses, tongues, ears or other pierced body parts when preparing/serving food. :rotfl:

I also want to trust that those people are washing their hands after using the restroom. And with the signs reminding people to do it makes ya wonder the percentage that do/don't. :scared1:

So why did you have to share your story then? Obviously it will offend some :confused3 You brought up a story about judging someone, it's offensive.

If I choose not to patronize a restaurant because I think the servers are gross, that's my business.

I don't think I have ever thought of a server as gross. I have been served food by unwashed(body odor) dread locked punks and I still wasn't offended.

The reality is, people judge you based on the way you look. The visual impression you get of people results in some kind of judgment.

People judge me all the time based on the way I look--they think I'm a nice, conservative middle-aged lady. :goodvibes I am definitely middle-aged, nice sometimes, and definitely not politically or socially conservative.

Like most people, I am visually biased in favor of "pretty" or "cute." A friend of mine has pawprints tattooed up her foot and ankle--cute! I don't like tattoos or piercings that I consider unattractive, but I recognize it's a generational thing--what a different generation thinks is cool, I may consider unattractive, and I recognize that when I was 18 in 1974, my parent's generation probably thought a lot of my personal adornment was unattractive, too.

I try not to judge, but it is natural to make some assessments based on appearance.

I would definitely rather receive my food from someone with metal hanging from every conceivable part of their body before I would want anything from someone who didn't wash their hands after using the restroom. Yucko!

How would it offend anyone but my waitress?

I guess I'm not used to filthy people.
