Nory Report III: In the Third Person! After 3 Years, the Final Update! NEW 2/6

First, I apologize for calling Simba "Donna"...that was my stupid IPhone when I was using it for the DIS.

Love your update. I agree with you on the Great Movie Ride. The whole attraction could use an update (and get rid of the gangster/cowboy portion). There are so many recent movies that should be added.

I enjoy The Great Movie Ride, I do wish for a tiny update though. Once in Munchkinland I noticed the eyelashes hanging off a few of the animatronics. It was pretty creepy!
I had no idea you could rent that room! I can see my cousin, also a huge Oz fan, enjoying that. (Though you raise two good points about the possibility of either creepiness or annoyance. :rotfl: )

That would be nice! Is Cars Land coming to DHS?

There is a rumor of that and/ or Star Wars land. Not which if either are true....
Every other park has had something added so DHS needs some love too.

And I hate to even think about how much it probably costs! :faint:

Hey! Welcome Back, Miss Nory! Very adorable pic of your baby. I'm glad you had a great trip - sounds like lots of great trips!:rotfl2:

Great update! Congrats on getting them all written. :thumbsup2 I didn't love the Tonga Toast as much as I expected to. I usually love sweet stuff for breakfast - I think it was the fruit sauce they served with it.

Still enjoying your third person writing!

Hi, Tammie, good to see you again! I see you have a TR going on...I will have to pop over and check it out!

I love all of the pictures of the Great Movie Ride. The munchkin scene makes me smile every single time. I'm with you about those ending clips though. For anyone under the age of 20 I think that part would be almost meaningless. They really should add in some new films and eliminate some of those that haven't stood the test of time.

Exactly what I'm talking about. I wonder how much longer it'll take, though, before they do anything about it. Another 10 years, maybe?

It was a little after ten. Nory had picked up a Tower of Terror fastpass before she rode earlier, so she decided she might as well use it now, and get another one for later. On her way back toward Sunset Boulevard, she detoured over to Pixar Place.

Toy Story fastpasses were gone. Before 10:15 in the morning. On a non-Fantasmic, touring-plan-rated one morning. Bizarre.

It had become clear to Nory that in a park with so few proper rides, when one goes down, it severely impacts traffic to the others. Even the paths seemed ridiculously crowded. It really made her wonder about how many park guests must be in Rock n Roller coaster at any given moment on a more normal day.

She handed her fastpass to the bellhop at the Tower, and breezed through the first part of the line into the pre-show.

Once again, though, she was trapped in the boring boiler room for ten interminable minutes. A few minutes into the wait, the terrible smell of rotten eggs filled the air. Nory looked around for the perpetrator.

A man and a woman, directly behind her, were berating their son.

Andrew! the mother hissed, You cant do that in here!

Andrew was grinning. Clearly he thought torturing a room full of trapped people was a blast. And despite his parents remonstrations, he farted one more time before Nory reached the loading area.

At least this time she got to sit in the front.

As she exited the gift shop, she made sure to smile extra big at the CM manning the door. He remembered her.

Thats more like it! he said.

She had quite a bit of time to kill before her 11:30 lunch at the Brown Derby, so she decided to visit another attraction shed skipped over on her past few trips. It had been so long, actually, that she had to look at the map in order to find Muppetvision 3D. But soon enough she was examining the wacky props in the waiting area.

The film itself had been restored since the last time shed seen it, which made her very happythe scratches and specks that marred it in the past were gone, and Kermit and Miss Piggy looked vibrant and new as they sang through their madcap musical extravaganza. Almost vibrant and new enough to distract Nory from the familys worth of kids sitting next to her who spent the entire time climbing over the seats, from their row, to the row behind them, back to their row again. Dirty looks had no effect, unfortunately. Maybe the 3D glasses ruined the impact of Norys fiercest glare.

After the show, Nory took her time exploring the courtyard.

She strolled through the Streets of America, an area that doesnt impress her as much as it used to, now that she lives in a real city. The infrastructure for the Osborne Lightsthe spectacular light show that illuminates the park over the Christmas seasonwas already in place. Nory would love to be in Disney World for the holiday decorations someday, but shell have to stop working in retail first.

With nothing else in mind before lunch, she meandered around a bit aimlessly, snapping pictures at anything that struck her fancy.

Great pictures in TOT. I had to laugh at the young boy who had the rotten eggs. But what's with the parents not controlling their children in a theater (we had the same behavior on our flight home and let me tell you that if I had been in front or back of these monsters, their parents would have known about my displeasure).

I can't wait to see the Osborne Lights again in December (we saw them the first time during Mark's surprise 60th in December of last year).

Beautiful pictures as Nory strolled around the Studios until her lunch.

Nory should have taken a picture of the young boy with the rotten egg problem and shamed him on the DIS.:lmao: Love all the photos. Best thing about solo trips is you can smell the roses all you like. (Though sometimes I guess you smell other things too.);)

Great update! :)
Thanks!

Great pictures in TOT. I had to laugh at the young boy who had the rotten eggs. But what's with the parents not controlling their children in a theater (we had the same behavior on our flight home and let me tell you that if I had been in front or back of these monsters, their parents would have known about my displeasure).
The last flight I was on was ridiculous. It was just Simba and I, and through a strange combination of events that will probably never happen again -- a last-minute ticket change, the fact that we had to check lots of bags, etc. -- it ended up being cheaper for us to fly first class. There was a mom, a 3-year-old, and a nanny in the row in front of us, and the 3-year-old screamed the entire flight. Except for when they let her dance in the aisle, which they did constantly, even when the seatbelt sign was on. The mom clearly had no idea how to take care of her daughter, and kept telling the poor nanny to take care of her (while the mom read gossip magazines). I spent part of the flight being worried that there would be turbulence and this little girl would go flying down the aisle, and part of it kind of wishing that there would be (in a way where she wouldn't get hurt, of course!), just to teach this lady a lesson. I mean, sheesh, crying aside, the seatbelt sign is on for a reason!

I will probably be less judgmental once Simba's that age, but it really seemed particularly ridiculous!

Nory should have taken a picture of the young boy with the rotten egg problem and shamed him on the DIS.:lmao: Love all the photos. Best thing about solo trips is you can smell the roses all you like. (Though sometimes I guess you smell other things too.);)

Too funny about the boy in the ToT line. :rotfl2:

Funny how when you think the park is going to be relatively light and Bam you are faced with everyone and their brother.

I had a trip the first weekend of Food and Wine and it happened to me. I finally figured out that most who were there read the same suggestions I did and when I zigged, they zigged too. I had to go back to thinking like a tourist and voila light crowds. :rotfl2:

Looking forward to hearing about your lunch. :goodvibes

Go figure!

Oh Andrew! I bet he got a lot of dirty looks and a few smirks. :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed ToT and your random picture taking turned out to be a nice addition. So many cool photos. I do love the muppets and that fountain looks so cool. Nice work.

Can't believe all the TSM FPs where gone that soon. Wow!
