Does anyone know if the gift shop in Norway is going to go with Maelstrom?
When is demolition slated to begin?

Norway use to carry these gorgeous ski sweaters. My dh brought one years ago and he said it was the warmest sweater he ever had. I always wanted one but I admit the price tag always scared me away. :scared:
Anyway, I figure that with a new frozen theme ride installed, the really cool stuff is going to go away also to be replaced by "frozen" stuff, if I want one I better get it soon.

Anyway notice if the sweaters are still being sold? who are they by?

NO, the gift shop is not going away. CM's in the shop have confirmed.

The shop and the sweaters were still there last week. I don't remember the brand of the sweaters, but wdwinfo lists it as "Dale of Norway" and "Helly Hansen".

You can buy both of these brands in many other places and I'm sure cheaper than at WDW. They often are on sale too (try Google). Also check out sierratradingpost.com.

Dale of Norway is what you're looking for Eliza. I bought one in Norway eons ago and could wear it as a jacket during the winter in MN - they are that warm! Beautiful too. Not too much of a chance to wear it in the more mild winters we have in Reno. I also have my Moms which is 50 plus years old. They're virtually heirloom quality.

I'm here right now and the shops open, and someone asked them the same question and they said no its staying they have made the other portion of it quite full of Frozen stuff so I'd doubt they'd need another store.

Always thought selling those heavy sweaters in Orlando was a tough sell. They're very nice, but about 9 months out of the year that's the last thing that sounds good.:)

Disney is actually pretty cheap for these brands. My cousins from Norway stocked up on Helly Hanson when they visited because it was a lot cheaper at Epcot than in the actual country of Norway. Probably because of the high taxes they have. Plus if you have a Disney visa card that is another discount. So the Norwegian items at the store in Epcot is definitely not a bad deal. They used to sell moods of Norway, which is really hipster, trendy in Norway, but they haven't had that in a few years.

I was unaware there is a Disney Visa discount in the shops at Epcot. Is that correct? If so, does it apply to all shops? I thought it was just the main Disney shops.

So I went and tried to read all the fine print, and it says Visa discount not valid at China, Japan, and Morocco, so I learned something new today!
