I have also looked at a few B&B's, but I am also considering staying at one of the chain hotels. I think there is a Best Western and a Ramada. It is hard beause for every good review I read on a place it is followed by a bad review.

I was told that the Ramada Inn was not near the town. I don't know about the Best Western. I agree about the reviews - just about the time I think I have it decided then I find bad reviews on it. Someone on this thread has stayed at the Premier Inn so we may stay there. Decisions, decisions!

Tammy, I don't know you but I read your story earlier in the thread and I am amazed at your strength.

Thanks for the tips on the books. We have already checked out several from the library as well and DH is already diving into them. We aren't renewing passports yet though as they aren't due until next Feb. I think that's when it will seem real!

We need the passports for a cruise in Aug., and decided to get them a little early. Ours expired in Dec., so they did not have the necessary 6 months on them.

We went to a book sale today, and got a bunch of (older) travel books on countries we will be visiting.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Cold and foggy here today, snow in the forecast for tonight! This is so much harder to take after the nice weather we have been having!

Have a great day everyone!

Ooh, I wish I had a reason to renew my passports early but it is RVing for us this year. While you are cruising in August it will be about 100 degrees here:faint:

I am spending NYE at Disney with the kids and a few friends, I hope. I have been dealing with a bit of depression and some days I wonder if the side effects of the medication is worth it.

My DS is not doing all that well in school. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in November, and is on medication and has really gotten better in my opinion. I am hoping that school will turn around. Maybe we are on the right track.

My DD is doing quite a bit better, and now has a best friend at school and is doing okay at school.

We are expecting a trial in November and I am dreading it so much. It will be so painful, that is what I dread. And the reporters and so forth. Maybe it won't be too bad.

Thanks for asking.

Just popped by and saw this post. Continued love and hugs to you and the children Tammy.

I'm pleased to hear that the children are both doing better

Good Morning Cruisers!

Cold and snow here today, currently .6 degrees, supposed to get windy later causing problems with blowing snow. Brrrrrrr!

Just announced at the Annual Disney Stockholder's Meeting that the new ships will be called Disney Dream (2011) and Disney Fantasy (2012).

Just thought I would let you all know.

Faith

At last there's a name for the new ships!

My computer crashed last night taking all my info, ressie #'s and research with it. It can't be retrieved and I am not a happy camper. At least they have me back on line now but not with my normal setttings so I have lots of work to do.

OK so if the Disney Dream goes to Alaska would it be called the Disney Dreamcicle..... :rotfl2: :lmao:

We're arriving on June 6th. We're going to see London at an 8yo pace with 1 day for Harry Potter and 1 day for Stonehedge and King Authur. We are heading to Dover the afternoon of the 10th.

Do you mean Stonehenge ;-) This is great to go and see but a similar in my opinion far more atmospheric and interesting site is Avebury and surrounding landscape; its not that far from Stonehenge. There is Silbury Hill, lots of burial mounds etc very very interesting :-) I used to know loads about this period of history until I had a baby - now my mind is a constant blur!

Where will you King Arthur visits take you?

It was me that mention the Premier Inn in Dover ..... nice, tidy, clean and new when we stayed there 4/5 years ago.
Just checked the location of the Ramada, it always looks a bit scruffy on the outside but thats nothing to go by really .... its probably 15 mins to the docks for the cruise. Not so far if you want to visit Dover Castle - well worth a whole day if you have time :-)

A nightmare about your computer tho, I would be lost without the ton of information on mine, a timely reminder to run another backup when I get home .....

ps we're strugging with the emotional side of planning/ not planning for something we desperately want but in the end might not work out either :-( just depends on the exchange at the time I guess and noone can tell that at the moment.

Oh no Gydell!!!! Don't you just hate computers. I think for that reason alone I'm going to go ahead and email my notes to myself and save it to my laptop.

For some reason today I got the planning bug for this cruise. I've taken this trip from a cruise and turned it into a BIG vacation, at least in my mind anyways. I just have to see what everyone else thinks. I've got a few days in London on the front and a couple of days at DLP on the end, a bit ambitous I know.

That can be our cruise title since I plan on being on the 1st one of these cruises too!

Thanks!

My trip to London keeps getting longer too! We will return home after the cruise so we can have a few weeks at the pool before school starts.

Yes I mean Stonehenge. The tour includes Avebury and sites of King Arthur. We also plan on spending a day and a half in Dover before the cruise. Two days in London - maybe I should add another one....

Think of the money saved with no flights. Can you pay some now that the exchange rate is good?

IKWYM! The exchange rate has pushed up the cost of this cruise for us by about £2500 (currently $3450) since we booked it - and it was expensive to start with... :sad2:

The exchange rate isn't good for us, so no point in paying off anything yet...
