Speaking of formal nights......on the PC we had 2 formal and 1 semi. My dh left the cruise in Acapulco and I had told him to take all the clothes on 1 end of the closet with home with him since we had already worn them. I had forgotten that was where all our formal wear was. We get ready and go to get our clothes and we had nothing but regular clothes. Needless to say we wore plain clothes to both the formal and semi nights that were left. We felt a little out of place but there were others that were not in formal wear.

We are seriously going to try and do this trip like we did in college with just a backpack and maybe a shoulder bag. Will see.

I still like my idea of a t-shirt with a check list that says,
1. This is my Formal wear
2. This is my tropical night.
3. This is my Simi Formal
4. This is my Pirate outfit
5. ETC ETC ETC......

I could always celebrate my bday 2x on board - 1x at the start (for my 40th that is in Nov 2009) and 1x at the end (for my 41st that is in Nov 2010). Like I'm going to need any kind of excuse to eat cake

I have a friend who was going to be there, but the doctor said DW couldn't fly at her stage of her pregnancy, so DH didn't go.

I'd of left her.....

My husband would have left me....hey, in fact he did leave me, he went with his dad.

Thanks. I was actually cringing when a picture of me was coming up, but this isn't that bad.

Basically, if you don't mind having the deposit money "tied up" at DCL, booking a non-refundable deposit isn't quite as bad as it sounds. They are plenty flexible.

I think booking a Cat 1-3 would be tough though - not only is the deposit 2x as much, but it's non-refundable. Ouch! So much can change in 20 months....

I don't know if all the deposits are the same, but I have a deposit in for a category 2 on a "waitlist". DCL told me that it is refundable if the room doesn't come up, but it is non refundable if the room does come up and I wouldn't want if for some reason. Now, hopefully nothing bad happens, because I'd be out my deposits on my two rooms and my deposit on my waitlist room.

Well, that will be on July 5th, so not that long after.

I'm in the same boat. I turn 47 on June 28th. But we are celebrating it the last night on the cruise. We will actually be flying back home on my birthday, since we plan to stay a few days in London after the cruise. I usually celebrate my birthday for at least a week every year anyway.
