Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Got all the ironing done today and put back into the closet. Will be loading up the suitcases on Sunday.

Happy Travels to everyone leaving this weekend! Anyone else leaving Saturday or Sunday?

It was cloudy & muggy today with highes in the 70s, this is so not like our regular weather.

Safe Travels Gydell!

Only a few more days and I have so much to do! This past week at work has been crazy. For those that don't know what I do... I work for Red Cross in Disaster Services. We had flooding in one of the counties that we serve. It was very isloated, but these homes have never flooded before. So I have spent the last few days working with these families. Doesn't mother nature know that I am busy!! Why did she have to dump 4.5 inches of rain in an hour:laughing::scared1:

So after the hairdresser tomorrow, I will be spending some time in my office to get some things done.

Slowly but surely things are getting done.

Not long now

Debbie

P.S. I have a small update to do, but have been too tired at night to do it. Hopefully I will get it done tomorrow.

See ya all soon we leave Barcelona today and I am too excited to sleep.

How wonderful that you work in an area of such service! Wow! And you have coordinated this group list for all of us. Thanks so much!! :worship:

I loved our time in Barcelona after the EBTA. We were going to be on that cruise with you guys, but just couldn't swing a few more weeks in Europe! :sad2: Have a great cruise!!!!

Happy travels, all--my 9 yr old DD is looking forward to the 3 PM meeting by the Mickey pool! We head out on Tuesday--and the weather in San Diego is unusually warm for this time of year (no June gloom this weekend--up into the 80s inland). My 16 yr old DS, on the other hand, refuses to think about the trip until his finals conclude--on Tuesday!

Debbie~ what a wonderful job! Thanks for doing all you do. Red Cross is awesome.

Scott~ take good care of our baby! We'll see you in a week!

Yep hope we will have blue skies over the cliffs of Dover....

I always think of collecting souvenirs too late - at the end of the trip :lmao:

Any good suggestions of items to collect at the various ports (besides postcards!) ?

well they are at the moment! Forecast for the weekend is hot and sunny but rain for the start of next week ..... still time to perk up a bit, summer has barely started here. We were in Dover last weekend and saw a special World War II memorial flight over the harbour by a spitfire - very poigniant.

Fish extender gifts done at last, fish extender waiting for completion, secret mickey gift a work in progress but still a few days left! We're going to start packing this weekend as dh will be working right up to Friday evening and I can't imagine how to pack when at home on my own with 2 little helpers! Its kinda hard as I want to wear the same things this week as I want to pack :confused3

Happy and safe travels to everyone. We'll be here til the last minute! :surfweb:

Kit, last weekend, if memory serves me correctly, was the anniversary of Dunkirk and the little boats that did so much.

Seeing the Spitfire would be very kewl.

Thats right! Many of the boats have been restored and they sailed again on the Thursday from Ramsgate Harbour but we missed them leaving (getting the family up and out of the house at 6.30am was just a bit much) and unfortunately when we went to see them return on the Monday they'd been delayed by bad weather.

The Spitfire was incredible though. I tried to capture it on my camera phone from up on the look out at the castle but it looked so tiny swooping around its hard to make out.

I can't wait to meet you! I am making my FE today. I got the fabric picked out. Almost done with my "Villain" outfit. DH doesn't want to wear a villain or pirate outfit this time. I guess I am just a kid at heart!

See everyone in 6 days!

Hi everyone. I've been lurking as of late. Been stressed by the re-build of our basement post sewage ala-city screw up. Had to remove all the cabinets and tile out of the kitchen area. Overseeing the work of a couple of the guys and trying to sanitize and protect all of our belongings our basement. The city has hired a microbiologist to test our basement (this is a good thing and a bad thing). It looks like they will make great progress while we are on the cruise and I can come back to just finishing work. So not only do I have to pack, but i have to have carpet and paint colors chosen and coordinated so they can accomplish the most while we are gone. Since the sub-contractor is at fault, we don't have to pay for it all, but it is a pretty full time job for the last few weeks. It's really stressed out the family and I am trying to get it to a point, so I can let it go while I travel.

I bought the fish extender over ebay. She mailed it yesterday. I told her I'd like it BY the 7th, which was the upper limit of her timeframe. I told her I LEAVE on the 9th. We'll see. So we don't know what we'll have on our fish! Nothing like cutting it close!

DH didn't order me the camera connector for my ipad, so I could email him pictures while we are on the cruise. They are next to impossible to get, except on ebay where you pay 2.5 times the price. Should have that Monday Well given what we're spending on the cruise...what's another hundred bucks...love the ipad though!

I downloaded a clock app and programmed all the clocks for all the countries so I know what time it is everywhere and pulled all the weather for each city!

Got my FE gifts, but need to personalize them!

Can't wait to meet everyone! Boys are looking forward to this but not interested in DISboards. But they text friends from the last two cruises all the time, which I think is great.

Safe travels to all!-Jennifer

We will see everyone in one week. We leave for London on Monday and I plan to spend tomorrow packing. I was a little bummed when I saw the weather for London on Tuesday and Wednesday with rain forecasted. We are planning the London Eye and dinner at Porters on Wednesday and the tour to Stonehenge on Thursday, so hopefully it will not be raining. I told DH that highs in the 60s and lows in the 50s and he said sounds perfect. The weather is already hot and humid in Houston. We are taking the train from London to Dover and the train gets in around noon so we should be at the port around 12:30. I still need to booked the train tickets though. Happy packing and safe travels.
