Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

I borrowed a few travel DVD's from the library about Scandinavia and they all suggest the first thing to do in Copenhagen is the canal boat ride. :sail:

In Helsinki, my DH wants to to on the Pub Tram Tour!

Hi fellow cruisers.
Just wanted to share that the listing of times that are a link from this site or the general Baltic site are not completely correct for SPR. It looks like most of you are doing your own private tour but for the folks who are booking through Disney all of the tours that are 4 or less are offered on day 1 as well as day 2. THe listing only showed day 1. We wanted to go to the Spilled Blood Cathderal but the listing showed it was only offered on day 2 this is not true it is also offered on day 1.
The system kicked us off about 12:20 am and we did not get back on until 1:15. It took us 45 minutes to finish everything. It seem quicker for our last cruise to the Med in 2007 or maybe we are just 3 years older! :rotfl2:Right now they are only showing Palo for dinner at 6:00 pm on day 6. Also if you want to do 2 short tours in the same day there has to be 2 hours between them. We wanted to do this in Germany since we are not going into Berlin. There was only 1hour and 45 minutes between the tours so it would not let us book. I call DCL and they explained the 2 hour wait time. We hope to book the pm tour when we get on board.
Since we are new to Disboards we are not participating in the fish extenders. Thought best to observe first.
We are suppose to have snow furries in south east VA again! REally can't wait for spring. Being a native Calfornian even if I am from Northern CA this cold weather is gettng old!

Thanks for this info - the Spilled Blood cathderal was the one I really wanted on Day 1 and I was disappointed it was not offered that day. We were planning The Spilled Blood Cath, come back to boat for a Topsider dinner then on to the Russian Ballet so I am happy!:cloud9: The 2nd day we're hoping to do the Catherine's Palace and Hermitage museum. When I was a teenager I would NEVER have thought I would be visiting Russia! It seemed like one of those mysterious forbidden places - goes to show you how much things CAN change. SO exciting!

My husband I lived our entire lives in San Carlos until we moved to Virginia in 2000.

We are in Richmond and our friend who is traveling with us is now living in Folsom but was in Fremont! Wow California to Virginia is a BIG move!

BTW does anyone know just how many TOO many pairs of shoes are to take?! :rotfl:

There are a few excursions with a canal boat ride are you thinking about doing the ride independently? The Carlsberg Brewery interests my traveling companions and I'm interested in Tivoli but not sure how to fit it all in:headache:

Do you mean when you move or on the cruise? I always have trouble with shoes....I need my flip flops, my Columbia strappy sandals, my dress shoes, my black slides, my tennis shoes.....

I think we might not do Disney excursion in Copenhagen. Definately the canal boat ride, which seems to go by all the sights, and then you can visit Tivoli for a while. I don't know how much Tivoli costs, I haven't looked it up yet.

I don't think we'll tour the brewery, although some beer tasting will def. be on the list.

Speaking of shoes, I have been trying to figure out how many and which pairs I'll be bringing. Of course, I guess it would help if I knew what I was packing in case I need to coordinate something.:lmao:

I know I'll need my sneakers for shore excursions, flip flops for onboard (something easy to just throw on when I need a snack, drink, gift shop run, etc.), and dress shoes I have absolutely no idea yet. Probably at least two pairs of those. So that makes a minimum five pairs of shoes. Not too bad I suppose.

So I am not alone in the shoe packing department. Thank goodness I don't have to pack wooden shoes! I wanted to take my flip flops, flats for the evenings, heels for formal night, 2 pair of walking shoes and slippers:eek: The husband thought I was crazy until he started looking into which shoes he wanted to take:rolleyes1 What ever happened to packing light he says:laughing:

After this weekend when we visit our friend and see which tours he is interested in I will have a better idea of which tours we are going to try and book.

Hello everyone,
I just found this web site and thread. Me (my husband and 9 year old daughter) are also on the June 12 Baltic Cruise. We did the DCL Med cruise in 2007 and are back for more fun. I am still reviewing the many posts on this thread but am excited to have found some fellow cruisers. I'm working on our shore excursions with the early booking date rapidly approaching.

Welcome to the group Patti!!!!

Well, the cruise was paid in full as one month ago today. What a relief! Wasn't sure we were going to pull it off.

We are a family of 4 adults from Utah. 2nd cruise for Mom and I and first one for Dad and sister. So excited for them. Trying not to tell them too much to spoil the surprises. Dad still doesn't know he is going. Early 50 anniversary and 80th B-day gift from the family.

We decided to give up the "ROY SUITE" for 10 days of touring London, Liverpool, and the Isle of Man post cruise. Cat 11 is JUST perfect for me. Loved it on our first cruise.

Wish Dad still had his pilot's license, we would just have him charter a plane over to see the Dream. We'll just wait for it to come to port and experience it all.

So excited to meet all of you. Thanks for all the fantastic information. Just wished I had discovered the disboards about 6 months ago.
Happy Planning and Sailing
Heidi
