Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Well, the cruise was paid in full as one month ago today. YEA!
We are a family of 4 adults from Utah. 2nd cruise for Mom and I and first one for Dad and sister. So excited for them. Trying not to tell them too much to spoil the surprises.

We decided to give up the "ROY SUITE" for 10 days of touring London, Liverpool, and the Isle of Man post cruise. Cat 11 is JUST perfect for me. Loved it on our first cruise.

Wish Dad still had his pilot's license, we would just have him charter a plane over to see the Dream. We'll just wait for it to come to port and experience it all.

So excited to meet all of you. Thanks for all the fantastic information. Just wished I had discovered the disboards about 6 months ago.

Welcome!

Thanks for this info - the Spilled Blood cathderal was the one I really wanted on Day 1 and I was disappointed it was not offered that day. We were planning The Spilled Blood Cath, come back to boat for a Topsider dinner then on to the Russian Ballet so I am happy!:cloud9: The 2nd day we're hoping to do the Catherine's Palace and Hermitage museum. When I was a teenager I would NEVER have thought I would be visiting Russia! It seemed like one of those mysterious forbidden places - goes to show you how much things CAN change. SO exciting!
We booked the Spilled Blood Cath. on day 1 & Catherine's Place & Hermitage museum so we may be on the sam tours.

Welcome everyone! I have updated the roster with all of our new friends.

We are also in the March 14 club. Still trying to determine what we are going to do in St Petersburg. Definately doing DCL tours, just have to decide. Thanks to everyone that has posted the times for those. (Why they just can't tell you before you book I will never know!)

Berlin will be with DCL. Just have a fear of missing the boat! The only other port that we are using DCL is Helsinki. We want to see Santa :santa: and figure since we are there on a Sunday, many of the places to see will not be open.

Have the other cities, including London, pretty well mapped out. Time is getting closer!!

Hello everyone,
I just found this web site and thread. Me (my husband and 9 year old daughter) are also on the June 12 Baltic Cruise. We did the DCL Med cruise in 2007 and are back for more fun. I am still reviewing the many posts on this thread but am excited to have found some fellow cruisers. I'm working on our shore excursions with the early booking date rapidly approaching.

Hi Patti,
Welcome aboard!!! I have a 9 year old daughter also. Her name is Sarah. She is excited about making new friends onboard.

Well, the cruise was paid in full as one month ago today. What a relief! Wasn't sure we were going to pull it off.

Welcome to the group Heidi!!!!

We are doing all DCL excursions because I too get very nervous about missing the boat. I've been pleased with the past excursion we've done with them so I'm excited about the Berlin Past and Present excursion and all the St Petersburg ones. Just hope I get my first choices.

Hi Carol,
My daughter's name is Margaret. She will be turning 10 the week before the cruise and is also excited about making new friends. She loves the pool so maybe we can arrange to meet there sometime the first day.

Patti

We have a March 14th day for booking too. We are doing a private tour both days in St. Pete's. I am still not sure what we are doing for Berlin. I am also still filtering through the excursion lists for the other ports. We are staying in London one day before and 2 days after the cruise (Ruebens at the Palace Hotel-across from Buckingham palace), and we hope to catch the third round of Wimbeldon if my husband gets his act together and finds us some tickets. Thats the one job I gave him for this trip since he is a big tennis fan. Otherwise all of the planning is up to me.

Patti

I am the DD(16 on cruise) of the 4boons and would love to see a teen thread.

Katie

I sent you a PM - as my daughter Lauren will be on the cruise. Not sure how many other teens there will be.

I think we might not do Disney excursion in Copenhagen. Definately the canal boat ride, which seems to go by all the sights, and then you can visit Tivoli for a while. I don't know how much Tivoli costs, I haven't looked it up yet.
According to their website, it adult entrance fee is 95 DKK or about $17.40. Rides cost extra.

Is anyone looking for additional people to share the cost of a private tour of St Petersburg?

Sarah loves the pool, too. Hopefully it will not be too cold. Sarah turns 9 a month before the cruise. I also have a son who turns 12 in July. We are squeaking one more cruise in before he pays the higher rates.

My daughter is 12 and has a tough time making friends. She is ADHD so that doesn't help. I am encouraging her to try the Ocean Quest though and make an attempt to find a friend. I think she is going to get tired of me. ;)

I am going to do more research on the Tivoli if it's that much. The gardens sound beautiful, but I'm not even sure we'd do the rides, anyway.

WELCOME to our new DIS members!

For those who do not get the reservations they want, as soon as you board, check with the excersion desk, Palo reservations, the Spa, etc.. In the past DCL seemed to hold back some slots, but check early because there are not that many open slots. Worth a try if you really want to do a particular excersion or Palo event.
