Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Can the Concierge folks find out what movies are going to be available while we are on board? There are some movies coming out in May, and was wondering if I should wait to see them on board, or see them before we sail? I asked DCL, but they wouldn't say

My husband has seen Avatar 4 times and wants an excuse to go again! I haven't seen it yet but everyone says I should. We were also wondering what movies would be showing on the ship. Is there a group from here going to a meal at Palos?

Who else is he likely to meet so that I can get hold of the relevant movies?

As I recall, Chip and Dale will be there, so will Lilo and Stitch, all the princesses, Beast, Daisy and Captain Jack! We alsol saw Goofy and Max!

I don't think they have the movie list available this far out.

Great fish extender! I will just be bringing the original one we have because it is the lightest.

Yes, we are traveling light also - because I don't want to have to carry too much, and do carry my own bags! We will each have a duffle to expand our capasity going home - but are going to try really hard not to use it before we reach the ship!

We'll be joining the March 14 bottom feeder club as well--and from reports I've received, there may be difficulties getting AM tours. I HOPE Disney reads these blogs and I HOPE Disney has (as I suspect they do) the good business sense to add more groups to the tours that have filled up with the earlier reservations. I'm happy to report we've booked our airfare--the fares from San Diego to London (via Minneapolis) dropped a bit, so we took 'em. So, with that in place, the cruise payment made, our London plans set, and private tours in Berlin and St. P done, I'm feeling a little less stressed about this trip. If the tours in the other ports are not available, we'll do our own thing--and heck, we'll be happy just to be there!

My dad says planning for a big trip is part of the fun. Certainly this one takes a lot of planning! We've booked the backstage ballet in St P and an excursion to Berlin (so they are responsible for getting us back in time) with DCL, and a private tour of St P with Anastasia Travel, a viking tour in Stockholm and a Segway tour in Copenhagen. It's coming together!

We welcome advice on tipping guide & driver on private tours as Bill & I have read wildly varied comments online. Haven't figured out yet how we'll manage so many different currencies and how much we'll need of each. Guess there's no way to avoid ending up with left-overs of each.

Bill called DCL today. Confirmed that formal night is first @ sea, only one semi-formal night on night 11 and a themed night after we leave Helsinki, but they haven't decided on the theme. Hope they'll tell us ahead of time so we know whether to pack pirate, vikiing or some other garb!

Just sent a PM to MJGIRL & GYDELL to sign up for Secret Mickey exchange. Where do we sign up for fish extender exchange?

We're down there too - counting down the days to March 14! I'm even considering having 2 laptops (one for each stateroom) open and ready so I can be sure I will get the same excursions for everyone!

So that you dont have to go back and look for it Laura, we have the originator of the FEs on our cruise and her best advice( Im summarizing) was to look at our list and include everyone. So right now I think we are at 50-55 cabins.
Secret Mickey is slightly different as you are exchanging with just one person.

In Helsinki, we plan to go to shore, walk around to see the city, take a bus tour if they have one. On our own.

In Helsinki, you will have your choice between the Hop-On Hop-Off bus or the 3T trams.

We also leave to go skiing for Spring Break on March 14th so I will not be able to do anything until later in day or does the booking window open at midnight. I could still be up then packing.

I had a little problem with crashing too but I did get my Palo ressies, and a few excursions. What are you guys booking for Helsinki? I think I am going to stay on the ship that day and rest!

We'll be doing the Nordic walking tour. I figure after that many days on the ship, we'll need to burn some serious calories!

Yay!!!! That means 9pm for us on the West Coast! I'm not sure if it's going to be done quickly because everything will be booked or take forever because the system will be so slow. Can't wait to see what is left!

Yes it will be - a 90 minute drive from home to get on the ship beats a 9 hour flight so when I found the Magic was going to be leaving from Dover AND the cruise took in my birthday I couldn't resist. We're pretty excited too.

Not sure about the shore excursions, but as far as the spa and Palo goes, I don't see there being an issue for anyone on the cruise. I've never had trouble on four or seven night cruises getting multiple Palo dinners, a brunch and whatever spa treatment I've wanted.
