Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Gydell, where did you get that and is it real? That will help sooooo much!

AuntSue, if you need any help wading through the FEs and SecMic, just let us know and everyone is welcome to play!

I did send a message to MJGirl about our names and cabin numbers and other listings to MJGirl to join in the Secret MIckey Game. That sounds fun! :thumbsup

I see our names and cabin numbers are on the roster that EpcotKilterFan made.

We are getting excited!

Lynn, sorry about your temperatures. Carolyn and I went out yesterday for 13 miles, had to take off our long-sleve tee shirts, got too warm (68 degrees and sunny). It's tough having to do all this sweating, but someone's got to do it! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Alex

HA HA! We are in Hunter's Creek, and we are so happy to take off our socks! Sandal time again! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I think FL is warmer than AZ right now. Having some rare rainy weather. I havnt even thought of wearing sandles!

I think it's so much fun wandering around London by tube, water taxi, double decker buses! Is anyone planning to go to the Globe Theater? Last time I was there I had a great tour! Also I climbed all the way to the outside balustrade on the top of St.Paul's cathedral. Great view! And don't miss the London Eye!

We are getting ANOTHER cold front through here tomorrow and there are FREEZE :scared1:warnings AGAIN !!! We just had a big thunderstorm that went right over WDW and Sea World and our house!

Good morning, we woke up to rain and fog today. I hope it doesn't last too long!

Connie

No, we'll keep it.....you don't have to shovel rain....and the temps today are 70 degrees. going up to 75! Might be in the low 60's thur and fri, but up to the 70's again on the weekend!:flower1:

I was just watching weather also - Noreaster coming so more snow Thur-Fri-Sat for us too. I know its Feb but jeez can't we get a break? I'll survive if it clears by the weekend after, my DH is going to a conference and I'm going to tag along (I can always find something to do while he is in meetings!) If we have to cancel then I'll be mad:mad: I can always dream of June. :)

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area we are in the mid 50s and rain on and off until next weekend. Hopefully we won't hear about water rationing and a drought this year! Trying to figure out what kind of clothes to take in June. Anyone have any suggestions?

Marianne

I spent one weekend day with London tour book and underground maps, and I planned about 5 days worth of things to do in the 3 days we will be there!

Layer, layer, layer! Sounds like it could be anywhere from cool to warm, as we have to travel light, the only thing to do is bring things that can be layered.

I put off the dog walk until later today, just could not face the dark, cold and wind all at the same time - later I will just have to face the cold and wind but it will be sunny! It is warmer - it was 27 degrees this morning, but with 25mph winds, the wind chill was about 2 degrees.

The wind has picked up and now it looks more like Cheyenne, with bare spots of grass visible and larger drifts of snow.

Have a great day all - after today I am back to working the early shift so will not make it back here until the weekend.

I agree, layers! What we experienced in Alaska is suppoedly similar to the Baltics. We are going to be able to weed out some of the things we took.
DH took long coat, but didnt really wear it, DS never wore long sleeves but did wear his jacket, when we made him. My hands get cold so I will definitely bring gloves. Here I am saying that my hands get cold and I read your weather reports and think that I must be the biggest wimp! I'll keep our sun and heat!

When did you visit Alaska? Was it by cruise? We did an Alaska tour last June and had 90 degrees in Fairbanks and cold, rain and wind in Ketchikan! I was wondering whether to expect the same in the Baltic! My husband would rather I not overpack since we are making the stop in Paris before and London after and he winds up hauling the bags!

we were in Alaska in 1993. It was in early August. It was like spring weather in northern Illinois, except when we were right by the glacier. If you don't know spring in Illinois.....one day can be 90, the next 60, then a frost at night, and then up to 75 and rainy the next......you never know!!!!! We are bringing layers for sure. I plan to have short sleeve tops with a light sweater over top and a raincoat in my backpack.

.

We have been to London several times, but only in the daytime. We stayed with friends who lived about an hour north by communter train. We would go in the morning and come back in the evening in time for Chuck and Bill to get a quick trip to the pub. I am sure you can get more touring in than we were able to do with a wheelchair. You can zip all over the place! :moped:

This may have already come up but does anyone know the schedule for the evening shows/entertainment for our cruise? I would love to plan Palo's on a night of a show we have already been to if possible. We love Palo's and really look forward to a leisurely evening and not worrying about what else is happening that night. Thanks!

We were there last June also! We took an NCL cruise and you know the saying "There's no place like home!" home being the Magic! BUT they had the intererary we wanted and dates available.
We went to Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau, no 90 degree days but I think from what weve been told the weather will be similar.
DH does not want me to overpack either. We are doing the reverse, London first then Paris.

We are on this cruise. I'm wondering if there is a Teen cruise-meets for this cruise? My 16 yo (will be 17 when we cruise) son will be on this cruise and I suggested to him that he start a cruise meets thread for the teens if there was not on already.
