Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Yes it's the 3Gs. So far I like it but I've got a lot to learn!
I absolutely love my iPhone - Frances and Lauren have them too - but I'm not eligible for an upgrade until January - so I'll have to wait....

Hi, Gydell!
Hi Connie and family!!!
One question I've come up with is about disembarkation - and catching a flight that afternoon.... I really hadn't thought about it - but is it really smart to try and catch a flight in the early afternoon after we've dismbarked? I'm concerned about the distance to Heathrow, traffic, customs, etc....

Any thoughts?

I'm thinking about a flight that leaves at 1:30pm. I was told by my driver that if he picks me up at the ship at 8am then I'll have no problem. The other flight would be at 9am the next day.

Same with my dh.

Hello everyone. I am back at home. Tired but loved the cruise of course. I will try to get caught up in the next day or two. I rebooked the june 5 repo on board for the 20 percent discount and 400 onboard credit. Really good deal.

Welcome home! Glad you had a good time. No deals yet on our cruise?

Now that things have calmed down, we've had a rough weekend. We found out yesterday that our boxer, Ozzy has boxer cardiomyopathy (heart disease). We came pretty close to losing him yesterday. Luckily we got him to specialty clinic and they were able to get his heart under control. We were able to bring our baby home today. He'll be on meds for the rest of his life, but we'll take that over the alternative.

OMG:eek: It's awful when something like that happens to a pet. Thank goodness you were there to take care of it before it was too late!

Happy Fathers Day all!

Emily - take good care of that boxer!

Have a great day all!

Gydell, you have no idea how close to too late we were. Sadly the main symptom of boxer cardiomyopathy is sudden death. We are so lucky he is still with us.

Lynn, we're taking good care of him. He's getting all of his meds and his vitamins twice a day just like the vet ordered. He's resting right now.

Glad he's doing better - we've had a bad month - first my mother-in-law died and at the same time our cat was diagnosed with FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). We had to put him to sleep last week. It's been really hard on my wife... but she's doing a lot better...

Sorry about your MIL and your cat. I know when we put our puppy to sleep this fall that my dh thought I was having a mental breakdown.

Early afternoon might be a bit of a stretch....are you using Disney air and transportation? If so, they will book it so that you will DEFINATELY make the flight, but otherwise, you have to be to Heathrow 3 hours before your flight, and it's not too close to Dover. AND I don't think there's a direct train from Dover to Heathrow. It might involve a change of trains, which would also involve a wait. How about a personal helicopter? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Maybe if a driver picks you up and drives you straight to Heathrow from the port, you might make it.

We just got last night from a 7 night NCL Pearl cruise around Alaska.
We had a great time and it was awesome BUT......
We are so spoiled and I dont think we realize how good we have it on the Magic!
You know the old cliches about the grass being greener, you get what you pay for, etc? So true!
I would rather pay somewhat more to be able to go "home" again and recieve the service and quality that I am so spoiled with!
We will use NCL again, probably for Hawaii but if I had my choice I would stay Disney.
I just wanted you all to know that IMO we really do have the best:love:

Good Morning Cruisers!

Welcome home Rita!

Nice day here, will be getting warm with chance of afternoon and evening thunder showers. We had an amazing thunder storm last night - the lightning just kept up for hours - constantly. A couple big cracks of thunder sent the dogs to the closet. (One hides in the closet during thunder storms, the other doesn't seem to mind except for the really big claps of thunder that shake the house. Of course, the one who hides in the closet during thunder storms also sleeps in that same closet - it is "her closet":rotfl:)

Have a great day all!

We're lucky that Ozzy isn't scared of storms, especially with his heart condition now. Someone was shooting of fireworks last night and that didn't seem to bother him, so that's a good sign for the 4th of July. We already decided that we won't do fireworks this year, but I know our neighbors will and I don't want him to get too worked up.

I have a coupon for a 200 dollar onboard credit for anyone that wants to do the 7 night repo immediately preceding our cruise to the Baltics. Just let me know and I can send it out.
