North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Lisa... Wonderful pictures! You were really up there on that bridge!

EVERYONE... ENJOY THE WEEKEND! :cool1:

:confused3 I've been called many things over the years, but never Lisa. :lmao: My name is Shannon :lmao: Have a great trip!

Hi everyone,

Alaska is something I have wanted to do for ever it seems and this cruise from LA to include Alaska sounds wonderful. We have booked and have just been wondering about weather in April/May. Do love to lounge on deck and by the pool and lso have a swim and wondeer if it will be out of the question.
Also understand the Wonder will be undergoing changes and if there is any information on these apart from the addition to deck 10 which sounds great.
Brenda:yay:

:welcome:
I wouldn't count on being able to swim, but it is possible. Its really going to depend on the weather. It will not be Caribbean weather. And the breeze could be cool. If its sunny and you're out of the wind it could feel nice to lounge in a deck chair.

Are they making any other changes other than the deck 10 viewing section? I heard that most cruise ships that do Alaska have roofs over the swimming pools.

Ok, finally getting a chance to check in. Adrienne and I are definately joining in for the Alaska portion of the cruise. The repo is a question mark - we may book it when we are on the Magic later this month. Amazing how many people here we have cruised with before!

Hi Tony & Adrienne,

Good to be sailing with you again. From your signature looks like we'll be seeing you before the Alaska cruise on the 1st Baltic next year. :thumbsup2

I rather hope they will put covers on the pools when needed otherwise it is going to be lots of wasted aread.

I'll keep ya posted on what the Wonder has done during drydock... We'll be on the first cruise right afterward!! I'll be snapping pictures and will email them to Georgie or Bob from my phone before we leave the port. Hopefully they can post a few and let you know what's new!

KEWL. Our cruise leaves in 18 days. Looking forward to cruising with the ghouls and goblins. I far as I have read, I believe the only major change was the Cove Cafe/Outlook Bar project.

Where did you dog sled? Did it require a helicopter ride to a glacier first?

Hi Everyone! We're back from WDW... a fun time. We did finish the Race for the Taste. Never thought we'd make it. Thanks for the well wishes and encouragement.

Shannon! Sorry about the name mix up! :rotfl2: Who knows what I was looking at when I typed the post. None the less... loved your pictures. It looks like we'll want to explore that area a bit when we get there. Thanks! :thumbsup2

HebeJebe! Welcome!

Bob! Counting down the days for your cruise.

Ken! CONGRATS on your Bike Ride! :thumbsup2

Good Morning Cruisers!

Welcome to the newcomers!

Georgie and Joe - it was great to see you over the weekend!

Janis - looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

I also finished the RFTT without getting swept - I was really concerned because I knew I could not maintain a 15m/m - but I did average 16:12 m/m which is much faster than I thought I would do, and I did not get swept! Went from record heat to record cold and snow. Because of airline delays, I got back home a day later than planned, and came home to snow! It is getting warmer and I expect all the snow will be gone today or tomorrow.

Have a great day all!

I went dog sledding in Banff and there it did not require a helicopter ride to get there but I did do a helicopter tour of the glaciers there and they are simply breathtaking!

:cheer2:Congratulations Georgie!:cheer2:
