Here is the 411 on North Beach Camp Resort for anyone who is interested. I have around 60 photos to upload so this may take awhile.

Our site #85 (FYI, Spray your campsite & RV w/ant killer!):

And the award goes to ... maybe this is how you keep those darn ants away!:

Do not go camping here if you have arachnophobia; these things are hanging everywhere:

Or if you don't like the occassional free roaming cat taking a nap at your site:

What are we looking at here?

Is that wall to wall carpeting?

On a campsite?

Yes, he does deserve the award!

Cable Hook-up:

Sadly, this line-up beats the Fort's!

Thanks for sharing these photos.

This place looks a bit dated, but alright.

How much is a campsite per night?

I'm glad you approve of the winner. It was some sort of ground cover like you would use for a flower bed to keep out the weeds.

You are absolutely correct in your assessment of this CG. It's decent but not great which is a shame because there is so much potential. We paid $56 a night for a 30 amp full hook up site. If you have more than two people at your site, there is an additional $3.00 per person fee. The pros are convenient beach access, cable and a pool.

We also went over to Anastasia State Park to check things out while we were in the area. The sites look very similar to North Beach but the roads are paved, there is no pool or cable, however, the beach at Anastasia is gorgeous!!!

The restaurant at the river end of the CG.
We ate here and it was great!
In fact, it would be worth the drive even if you were
staying somewhere else in St. Augustine.

Sorry for the blurriness but you can still get the gist of it:

And that's all folks! :)

Great photos of NBR!

We have stayed here the past two years in order to visit St. Augustine on our way to the Fort, and I think you have done the place justice with your photos!

We are in PA, so when we arrive at NB in June, the ocean water is WARM! And my kids have a blast. They love going to the FL beach because the water is WARM, compared to DE/MD/NJ beaches.

Beautiful CG, :thumbsup2
Now don't tell me there were all those beautiful fishing docks and spots and ya'll didn't fish ????

Sorry Frank. Sadly, once again, we brought all the stuff with us and didn't fish. I think me and the kids must be wearing DH out too much to fish with all our shenanigans while we're on vacation. :yay::yay:

Just for the record though, DH loves to fish locally whenever he can. I'll try to dig up some photos to post on the fishing thread.

As for North Beach fishing, I did talk to one of the regular campers and he told me that he has never had any luck at the river and that the beach was better for fishing. I believe that must be the case, because I didn't see anyone fishing from the river docks, but there were always people fishing at the beach day and night.

Glad you enjoyed the photos Dogcarbon. Have you stayed at any other campgrounds in the St. Augustine area? How do they compare?

We have stayed at the KOA and at Anastasia State Park. Both are wonderful.

The KOA has all the modern conviences as expected and you are packed in there. but we like being near the center of the action, so we are OK with all that. But we like being able to walk across the road and to the beach while staying at NBR. So the draw back from NB is not being near all the commericalization, it is 10-20 minute drive away.

Anastasia is wonderful too. But no sewer hookups, or cable. Cable seems to be the deal breaker for my DH. But we like it for a night stopover, but you can never get in there easily if you plan at the last minute or at a busy time of year. Anastaisia has a wonderful beach and I have some of my best beach photos from there.

Thanks for the info Dogcarbon. We prefer to have cable also, and sewer hook-up, and a pool if possible. St. Augustine was great. There is so much to do there, I'm sure we'll go back. pirate:
