NorCal DVC Owners Group

Monterey checking in.

I’ve owned DVC over a decade & we‘ve been traveling to WDW every year for 10+ day stays.
IME SFO is usually the only airport w/ non stops to MCO. That said, I’m not a fan of flying in/out of SFO, the traffic to get there is a hassle, the long term parking is expensive, etc.. I have done some of the stay/park/fly hotels, driving over the day before, spending the night & grabbing their shuttle to the airport, that’s usually lower stress for me & less expensive than paying for parking. The issue is the longer stays - a lot of the hotels have a max on the number of days you can leave your car there.
I think i was looking at 1-stop in Dallas or Atlanta on Southwest from SMF (Sacto). I agree i’d rather not fly out of SFO, but I will definitely look into the non-stop options!! (SFO or other)

We haven’t been to Florida (and likely won’t in the near future) we do DLR 3-4X a year. Hate SFO so we’ll drive a little further to Santa Rosa and take Alaska direct to Orange County. So much more relaxing and easy than SFO or OAK.
Fly out of Santa Rosa.?

Ever fly into Long Beach? I like that so much better, its a bummer that Jet Blue stopped flying from Sac to LGB.

Just checked, no Long Beach, only Burbank and Orange County/Santa Ana out of Santa Rosa.
Truthfully, I didn't even know Santa Rosa had an airport.
Sac is closer by 1.5 hrs (STS is 3 hrs), im further up north, and technically Chico is closest, but they aren't back open yet, and when they do open it'll be to LAX only, so id rather drive to Sac & fly into Long Beach than into LAX. But my traveling friends would be super close to Santa Rosa, so that's good to know !!

I need to explore the DIS Forums better. Didn't know this thread existed though I recognize some of your DIS handles from other threads!
I also mostly fly out of SMF as well! But originally grew up in the Bay Area with family still there so still fly out of SFO or OAK time to time. Joined DVC 9/2022, joined the forums in 6/2023 and wish I checked the forums out earlier. (So much to learn!!!!)
We’ve been to DLR 2-3x a year the last 4-5 years but finally visited WDW February 2022. (Have been to WDW 2 more times since then) We just love it now ….more so as adults!!!!
Game changer for us when Disney bought the Star Wars and Marvel franchises.
