Ugh.... what terrible, no good luck! He hasn't had a fever all winter long! (colds, yes, but no fevers!) Oh I can't believe this. I guess we're still going, hope this is something quick. Thankfully he seems to be acting fine and has no other symptoms. Yuck. What awful timing......... :guilty:

I'm mainly just venting..... but any moms have any words of wisdom?

Agreed... DD had a fever the night before we left last year, gave her some motrin and put her to bed early and she was good to go the next morning :thumbsup2

Good luck

My pediatrician ALWAYS told me to rotate Children's Motrin and Children's Tylenol. It would get the fever under control. I'll be praying for a speedy recovery for your DS before you leave tomorrow.

It's the Disney Curse. Happens ALL the time. My DS puked marinara sauce all over the hall carpet the night before one of our trips. He has frequently had little virus-y things the day before departure. It always seems to resolve before we get on the plane.

Good luck! :wizard:

If this were one of my children, I would be rushing to the DR. to make sure that there is nothing else going on. Get him to give you something just in case. I am a little OCD though. :rotfl2:

I have a feeling I'm gonna be a wreck tomorrow (we leave monday!!), so I've already got Zofran (anti-nausea) and Imodium ready. Could he be excited? I know when I was a kid if I got really excited about something I'd get a temp and my parents would flip out, lol. I hope his comes down some!!

Do you have one of those Nurse Prac. at your local CVS?? I know it cost money but maybe if it doesn't get better by tomorrow. You can just have your child checked before you leave. To make you feel better

If your siggie is right, he's 2yo? could he be getting some molars? DD always runs a fever when she's getting teeth and motrin usually makes her fine!

The CVS idea is a good one or some other urgent care clinic...my worry would be ear infection, this could be disasterous on a plane and with both my kids they usually have fevers well before they complain of ear pain. I have done the last minute rush to the dr. on previous trips for this very issue. And I always travel with a "drug store"...every pain, allergy, cold, stomach med imaginable lol good luck, i hope all is well and he is just excited.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, we don't have a quickie type clinic, otherwise that would be a good idea, and I don't feel like calling for a referral to the ER for this. Thankfully he's acting just fine, other than a little fussy. We are driving, so that makes me feel better - no germy airplanes, no pressure on the ears, etc... He's not prone to ear infections anyways. He's only had one minor one and that was after a nasty snotty, coughy, congested virus. It COULD be teething... his eye teeth aren't completely in yet and both he and his brother have been extra drooly/gnawing on fingers in mouth lately. Thankfully we don't plan on hitting the parks until Monday, so that helps some. I hope he'll follow in some of y'all's kids footsteps and this will just be a one day, pre-trip curse! Now I just hope his twin brother doesn't come down with it too!!! :scared: Wish us luck!!!

Keeping my finger's crossed it's nothing. Have a great trip. Glad your driving, so you don't have to worry about flying and air pressure.
