So, I have a Nook and LOVE IT. My hubby just bought one too. I tried to transfer an ebook from adobe digital editions to his nook and when I try to open it on the nook it says "user not activated". I registered his nook with barnes and noble and we are using my adobe account (as we cannot figure out how to have two separate adobe digital editions on one pc).
HELP!
How can we have two nooks on one pc? It is like because the adobe is registered to me it wont let him open books on his nook...but the titles show up on his nook..just cannot open them...
any advice please?
Thanks!!!

You can have up to six (I think it is six but I don't want to go check right now) devices registered to an Adobe ADE account.

So yes, you just plug the 2nd nook in and activate it on the same Adobe Account on the same PC - the same way you did with the first one.

Yes, if it has a DRM. And if it is telling you it needs to be authorized it has DRM. Most library books do.

I had the same problem yesterday. I used the direction from this link and it worked perfectly.

They really know their nook on that site.
I was having the same problem and these instructions worked for me as well.

Just one caveat, if you have a Mac you will not see the .adobe-digital-editions folder on your nook that you need to delete. Macs hide all file/folder names that begin with a period. I could not figure out on my Mac how to show hidden files (there is apparently a way to do this, but I spent hours trying and could not get it to work) so I ended up bringing the nook to work with me & using my PC at work to find & delete the file. Just an FYI for any Mac users out there with the "user not activated" problem.
