Non-Wellness & underage drinking [Advice needed]

My S22 is in a non-wellness apartment with 5 other guys. 4 of them want to have a party next weekend, my S and another CPer are against it as the pro-party guys have no plans to check IDs, stop anyone under 21 from entering, etc.

Being the only WDWCP alumni, he explained to them the outcomes if anyone under 21 is caught in their apartment. Yet, they are unfazed and unconvinced.

The party hasn't happened yet, What should he do?

I hate to say this, as I usually believe that people should be responsible for their own decisions, but I think your son and the other CP opposed to the party should report it to someone in charge. I've heard a lot of stories about everyone in an apartment being terminated for something like this, regardless of whether they were involved. If they say nothing and the party gets busted, they will be in trouble too, especially because they knew about it.

It's tough, and there may be hard feelings from those throwing the party, but it would majorly suck for your son and the other guy to have to leave the program because of something they were against.

Typically, if people are termed for parties that happen in their apartment, they only term the ones who are there at the time the party takes place. If your son is elsewhere (preferably at work) during the time the party happens, he is PROBABLY safe.

Coming from someone who was terminated for something very similar to this, I would say your son should either tell his roommates that if they don't agree to check id's that he will tell security (not something he wants to do i'm sure but he needs to look out for himself), or he needs to check id's at the door himself and turn away those that are not 21 just to be safe.

It is possible that if he is away and not there for the party that he will not get in trouble (if he is at work when this happens then he probably won't) However, I would not count on that to keep you safe.
