We just got back from Poly - Samoa building, room 1604. It was a wonderful location! Right by the pool (but we couldn't hear the noise with the door closed), around the corner from the beach and a few steps away from Captain Cook's snack bar. It is a non-smoking building. So, don't ask me why our next door neighbors would sit outside their room every night and morning smoking. I guess they didn't want to expose their children to it, who stayed in the room, but exposing everyone else to it was fine (sorry, I had to rant.) Fortunately, we did not smell any smoke through the connecting door, so I doubt they smoked in their room. I don't know what your recourse is if this would affect your health - asking the front desk to talk to them???? I have mild asthma and fortunately, was not affected by them.
Another asthma note - some of the air inside some of the rides affects me a little bit. Example - Spaceship Earth has a part where it smells like a fire is burning. That always takes my breath away for a moment. Sometimes other indoor rides also make me breathe a little harder. Not sure if it's from the recirculated air or what?? Just something to keep in mind for your son.
