My DD is turning 7 and we want to have a a party at home. I thought we could have a PJ party. I will ask the girls to wear pj's and bring a sleeping bag or blanket. We will have pizza, snacks, watch a movie and do hair and nail painting. I'm hoping my niece or sister will come and help with this part.Does this sound like a good idea for 7year olds? I was also thinking of 6 to 10pm Is this too late or what? It will be on a Saturday. Any other ideas for a party theme will be taken too.. We usually go to the party places but their prices have gotten out of control.

Sounds like fun to me! If you don't want the kids to sleep over, I think 10pm is reasonable.

I might curb the ending time back to 9. 10 is pretty late for 6 & 7 year olds.

Sounds like so much fun I love this age. I would start at 5-9 and you can order pizza. How about make your own sundae bar. Or decorate a big sugar cookie. How about a craft project. Like elastic and bead to make a bracelet. Have fun I hope you get help.

My dd went to a "pretend sleepover" around this age. The kids had a lot of fun. I agree, 10 is to late. I would have pick up at 8:30 or 9:00.

This sounds great!! I would agree about shortening the party though by about an hour.

Nails, fun hair, a movie, and a craft sound perfect!

Good luck, OP!

We did exactly this same thing for my DD when she turned 8. We all had a blast. The one craft I did with them was I purchased overly large white t-shirts from Marshall's (for a take-home nightshirt) along with fabric paint. Each girl made a flower on everyone's shirt and signed it as well. Their thumb dipped in paint was the flower center then their pinkies dipped in paint became the petals. It was really cute and they all got a souvenir of the festivities.
Have fun!:yay:

My kids are older now, but I remember my daughter having and going to those kind of "sleepover" parties. They were always a bit hit. All the fun of a sleepover, but then the kids actually can get "sleep" time so no grouchy kids in the morning. I loved them and I remember the moms of my daughter's friend's loved them too. Perfect age. Sounds like a great time!!

Enjoy!!

These are fun, we did them with our girls. I would suggest not even worrying about them bringing sleeping bags. At this age some may not have one and really they won't need them--they will be busy doing stuff-- and that is a lot to carry and then roll back up and put away at the end. I would just tell them to bring a blanket and a stuffed animal.

Have a great time!
