Looking for ideas of non-park things to do that would be good for a family with children 10 & under. Preferably within a 1 hour radius of Kissimmee.

We love to go tubing at Rock Springs in Kelly Park. Also love swimming and renting canoes at Wekiwa Springs. Beautiful places that really show off the real Florida. Blue Springs State Park is also gorgeous and good for swimming in the warmer months and seeing the manatees in the cooler months.

We also love Pirate's Cove mini golf. Very close to Disney and lots of fun!

For a truly unique experience, head to the Thai Wat Temple on a Sunday morning to introduce the kids to Thai food in a beautiful setting on a river in Tampa. Check out the many other activities in Tampa, a one hour drive from Kissimmee.

We just love Busch Gardens.

Check out the Audubon birds of prey center in Maitland. We went during our trip in the spring, it was interesting.

Another vote for Orlando Science Center--plus it's indoors so a great rainy day diversion. You could rent bicycles and cycle all or part of the West Orange Trail.
