for all you frequent travelers (I've only flown 4 times)...I just bought these really great "huge duffle bags" for our 4/04 Wonder trip...now I'm afraid that they are beyond the restricted size....traveling jet blue, does anyone know how strict they are??went on the jet blue website, and it said 62", length, plus width, plus height....my tags say 22x30x36 which adds up to a whopping 88"...should I return them

I do not know how strict jet blue is, but when you bags are that big they will mostly likely make you check it in. If by chance you get it onboard, you may have no room to store in the cabin.

It is up to you to return it or just use it as a check in luggage. You can't lock the bag, but again the regulation does not allow you to lock the bags anyway.

Personally, I wouldn't risk taking them unless you are willing to pay the extra fee.

Also, will you be using the duffle at any other times? It might not be what you need for this trip but maybe you could use it on non-flying trips.

If it is a duffle that can be scrunched with in the perimeters, could you use it. Just be careful, they might have weight limits too.

Good luck!

I agree with musicgirl.. Weight is what they are most strict on. You can get wieght restrictions for your airline by calling them direct. You need to get some guidelines or you'll be in trouble. Just call and ask specifics. They'll help you out.

We always fly jet blue & don't ever have issues with weight. Usually my BF brings a carry-on sized duffel & a backpack & I bring a backpack/pocketbook & a carry on sized duffel or carry-on pullman. If we can swing it, we try to only have the backpacks to go under the seat in front of us, this way there is no fight to get into or out of the overhead. Anything beyond that we check, not only because they make you but you don't want to be carrying all of that luggage around with you! And if you ares sitting in the front of the plane you are the last person to get your luggage into storage, you can argue if there is no room- only if your luggage is the right size- if it's too big they will almost definately ask you to check it. Once you get to the airport you check your luggage & don't have to worry about it until you get to your destination & for DCL you don't have to worry about it at all, it just shows up in your room!! How great is that?? I would use them, but check them. Keep your valuables on you & pack your unbreakables away to be transported hassle free! Good luck!!:D
