We have not ever been to WDW with a little kid and are taking my sister-in-law and her 3.75 year old for their first trip. We have never used fastpass plus, just the old version. Rides like Journey into Imagination, Nemo under the Sea and Tiki Room etc. never had a long enough line to worry about before. Has that changed since the implementation of fastpass plus and the addition of fastpass to smaller attractions. I am thinking we will need them for the Seven Dwarves coaster, Mickey meet and greet and Voyage of the little mermaid (DHS show) and other larger draws as opposed to Imagination, Tough to be a bug and Pirates of the Caribbean that were never a problem before. It is way different when planning with a child!!! Any comments are appreciated.

Well, the standby lines have definitely increased thanks to adding FP to certain attractions, however, depending on when you go, usually it is not needed for most of those. Check out the FP Faq(https://www.disboards.com/threads/fastpass-frequently-asked-questions.3491680/) to see the attraction Fastpass priorities.

I generally don't use one of Voyage of the Little Mermaid, as pretty much everyone in the line gets into the next show. If there is nothing else you want to use it on at HS though then it can't hurt.

Def need for 7 Dwarfs and I recommend for Pirates and Mickey at Town Hall as well. the others, you can easily still get on a short line on standby IMO. :)

with a child that age, Peter Pan would be a FP priority. Most shows aren't. Cinderella meet if it's a girl.

This is a boy so he is excited to meet Mickey, though we are going to Cinderella's Royal table. I was planning on using Fastpass plus for Peter Pan, Seven Dwarfs and Mickey meet and greet, the safari, Frozen forever and Toy story. Will have to pick a couple others. We may use a couple for big rides so the Mom can get a few thrills. :) Thanks everyone.

Check into Rider Switch if you guys are wanting to ride some of the big rides. That might be very helpful for you.

Thanks. We have one adult who does not do the thrill rides or some of the smaller ones so he could sit with the kid. But... I hear the boy is somewhat adventurous so he might want to try the big kids rides!
We will take it as it comes. :)

Tiki Room, Nemo, Figment, Little Mermaid show..You don't need a FP for those unless the park is extremely busy. This past Presidents day weekend Figment hit 30-40 min waits a few times, but usually it's a 5-10 min wait.

Pirates of the Caribbean, if you want to ride it, I would recommend getting a FP for it. It use to usually be a walk on but nowadays it's uncommon to see it with less than a 20-30 min wait.

Yikes. I have never waited more than 3 minutes for Figment! And have note ever waited long for Pirates. This is going to be be a different trip.

While yes, the wait for Pirates, IASW, Haunted Mansion, Figment, Nemo The Great Movie Ride and others like this have increased, they are usually pretty easy to score as FP #3, 4, 5, etc

FP+ has definitely caused these attractions to have longer lines now. We never had much of a wait for PoC, Small World, Figment, The Seas with Nemo, Tea Cups, etc. We have really noticed a change with these. I would go early to hit these attractions without the FP+ or make early FP+ then try for a 4TH and 5TH. Usually, at MK we have had luck adding additional FP+ after using up the first three, we are a party of 2 so it is easier to get. We go frequently and unfortunately the stand by lines are much longer now.

We have to make our Fastpass choices this weekend as Tuesday is our day to begin the booking process. I am going to make sure to hit the major ones and then use extra fastpasses and standby for the others. Thanks for all the advice.

Peter Pan is always super busy, we didn't even do it last time we went. 7 Dwarfs is crazy busy....but your boy will love it, it's super fast and fun! I agree with what other folks said about the shows, usually everyone gets in. Pirates is a fast pass definite as well. I'm sure you will have a blast!

Thanks. We will be doing the booking tonight. It will all be fun no mater what happens. :)

What time zone are you in? FP booking is not at midnight anymore. If your day is Tuesday, then it is 6AM EST tuesday

I am Pacific time. Thanks for the info. I was considering the Midnight time. I am going to get up at my usual time of 5:30 and do it then. If I miss a couple items that will be okay. Our list is not super demanding except for Peter Pan. The Dwarfs coaster and Rivers of light!

Have you been reading the posts for ROL. It sounds crazy, even with the FP! Long lines, lots of waiting, even with FP. Just an FYI. Hope you can get one.

I did all of our Fastpass picks yesterday. It was kind of odd trying to mesh the day with fastpasses and dining reservations. I ended up picking a couple of things we wouldn't normally use a fast pass for but I figure we can try to change them later or just use them as is. I did get us passes for the main items we wanted including Rivers of Light! :)
Thanks everyone.
