Non-expiring tickets back at Undercover Tourist

I definitely agree! I was tempted but after running the numbers, I just can't afford them right now. That leaves a couple more tickets for fellow DIS'ers right now LOL

How often do they offer these? Does WDW sell these too?

If you want PH, the most you can get is a 7 day NE option for adults. They still have child tickets good for 10 days.

WDW used to offer them, but they stopped awhile back. The ones UT are selling now are most likely leftover stock of the discontinued tickets. After this round there's a chance they'll never have them for sale again.

Looking at the 5 day ticket, a 5 day regular ticket is $322, a 5 day non expiring ticket is $494. Thats a $172 difference. If Disney raised ticket prices $5 per year, every year, you'd have to keep the non expiring ticket for 34.5 years before it made up the difference. Am I understanding that right? Is there some other perk I'm missing?

If you're going 5 days on one trip a non expiring option would be a waste. These are good for people who go 1-2 days a trip, they can get the savings spread out. For example a ten day non expiring is 79$ a day versus 105$ a day for single ticket. If you figure a 5$ a year raise on price, and if you go 1 day per trip per year, by your tenth year you are still paying 79$ for a ticket that would then cost 150$, a 70$ savings!. If you are a family of four you are saving $100 per day now, and almost $300 in a decade.

$322 is the UT price, the Disney price is $335.48. But still not much of an opportunity for savings.

There's a bit more opportunity for savings on the 10 day non expiring Water Park & More tickets = $802.01. The 5 day Disney price for that ticket is $403.64. If you take two 5 day trips that's $807.28. Only a $5 savings now, but if you don't take another trip for a year or two, you'll save the ticket increase amounts.

I'm guessing the 10 day NE Park Hoppers and 10 day NE PH + WPF&M tickets offered more opportunity for saving, but UT does not have those for sale now.

I have never had a no expiration ticket before. I know a different person couldn't use the same ticket on the same day. But once a person uses the ticket are they the only ones who can use that ticket for every day left on it? My DS is 7, so he is a child now, but in 2.5 years he will be an "adult". Our DD is 4, so if there were still days left on his child pass, could we just have our daughter use it?

No, your daughter would not be able to use it. But Disney will not penalize a child for growing up, so your son could have his "child" ticket upgraded to an "adult" ticket with the same entitlements that remain on the original ticket. There would be no charge for the upgrade.

Are you sure there is no charge for the upgrade? Sounds like too good to be true, especially if this was bought from UT and not them directly.

After running the numbers, and knowing how we usually visit Disney, I decided that it's not worth the cost for me, either. Although, I may purchase a few extra MYW hoppers soon just in case Disney decides to instituted tiered pricing when they announce the package prices later this month.

As long as the "child" used the no-expiry ticket at least once while he was under 10, all you have to do is go to guest services with the now-adult child and ask for the ticket to be upgraded to an adult ticket.

It has been a few years since the non expiry tickets have been the best option for our family with the way we visit. I still have an old one with seven water park and more days and a single park hopper entry. I'll hold that last one just in case we want to spend a single day at WDW sometime in the future

This is essentially a discount on five one-day tickets. I don't know that the 5-day ne ticket is ever a great deal; you really need to get five separate trips out of it. For the longer tickets, you'll come out ahead in three trips.

It's not the cost per day, it's the non-expiration part of it that is the perk. If you're going for 5 days it would make no sense to buy them. If you are going for short visits then it's a bit better and you can keep whatever is left on for whatever time it takes you to use it. A regular ticket expires 14 days after the first usage making it worthless after that time.

I used to buy 10 day NX tickets and I sometimes would use 4 days, sometimes 3 and occasionally only one over a three or four year span. If you look at the prices for a 4 day and a 3 day and a one day sold separately it saved money. I'm not sure how much difference there is now with the higher rate for Non-Ex add on. I won't be doing it anymore so my trips will be less impulse and more planned. It will, however, give me a good reason to go to Universal for a couple of days because it will free me up from my ticket already paid for attitude.

Thinking about picking up a ticket for hubs since I missed it on the first go round. These tickets work well for us since we usually only spend 2 or 3 days in the park a trip.

I snagged two, 10-day NE park hoppers with WPFM on UT right before Disney discontinued them. I go to WDW often, but my DH comes down 2 to 3 times a year and goes to the parks maybe 2 days on each trip, so these have worked out really well for him. With the WPFM option he ended up with 20 total days of park tickets (10 for the theme parks and 10 for water parks, etc.), so the ticket boiled down to less than $40 per park visit. That's a BARGAIN!
