We own in Orlando, but typically trade thru II. Our maintenance fees are $1200 every other year. We have a 2BR that we can use 1BR at a time to fill the "gap year".
We are about to the point where it is break even - if we can find something to trade for.
If you count $600/year for maintenance + the II membership fees + the exchange fee ......well, it's almost more expensive. We have used it for a cruise (terrible waste of "credit"), Reno, Maui, Branson, and Orlando. Right now I'm trying to get a 2BR in Hawaii for October....no luck yet.
Our aunt & uncle own 4 timeshares. They seem to value them. Their maintenance fees are 600, 900, 400, and something a year. I can't see how it's worth it....but they buy more almost every other time they come to town. LOL
