If you'd prefer not to deal with the rental process, you can book DVC villas through Disney, just as you would any resort room. You'll almost certainly pay more if you book with Disney, but you would have the ability to cancel or change dates if necessary, and you would get full daily housekeeping.
Your only problem booking through a broker will be them having a member with GFV points to rent long before seven months out. By seven months out, when all points are equal, there likely will be little inventory left. You might want to try the DVC Rent/Trade board on the DIS to see if any one has GFV points to rent now or soon. You cannot post a thread asking for points, all you can do is post a response to a member advertising their points for rent. You might try other private rentals as well. GFV is a really small resort and many of the members who own there, want to stay there. So you don't find many wanting to rent out their points.
You might have better luck at seven months out with Bay Lake Tower in a two bedroom lake view villa.
I also recommend starting the rental process at the 11-month mark, but I will also say that I was able to get a 2BR standard view handicap accessible room at GFV at the 7-month mark. We are only staying there for 2 nights, but a full week was available at the time I booked. There is also the option of going through the regular Disney room reservation site and paying cash, but renting the points is usually more cost effective.
