Non-driver

Ok that's it! I am convinced. I have been online and booked a car for 12 days, got it for £264 including all insurance etc. I can feel myself breaking out in a sweat even as I think about driving on the 'wrong' side of the road ;) But I am sure it will all be fine, thousands of you have done it and lived to tell the tale. Thanks again and again, your help and advice has been greatly appreciated. Now about this Wallmart...

After WDW, the Wal-Mart is the next best attraction!! Its huge and sells EVERYTHING.....from guns to bananas and everything else in between!! The toy section alone is about as big as our Tesco!

As Steph said, its crowded, sometimes dirty and the staff rarely speak anything other than Spanish, but I wouldnt miss it!! We dont buy food there, (Publix is better for that) but its great for souvenirs, coolers, swim wear, toys, bedding, fabric, office supplies cheap T shirts and shorts.....actually I cant think of anything they DONT sell!

The nearest to I-drive is Sandlake Road (the biggest junction on I-drive).....just go east on Sandlake Rd and you will see the Wal-Mart on the right after a couple of miles.

Happy shopping and safe driving!
Allie.

PS. Chances are there will be loads of Brits leaving the Car rental place at the same time as you, dont be shy, ask to follow someone going to I-drive to get yourself used to the driving.

You might also be able to rent a car with a navigation system in it. My minivan has one and I'm attached to it now.

From Orlando or Sanford airports-take the 417 toll road going south and west. It's much quieter than the I4. Have some small change with you. Dollar bills etc.

Allow about 45 mins from Sanford-less from Orlando -and as you start coming into the Orlando area you will see signs like the Orange Blossom Trail then John Young Parkway and eventually the International Drive turn off at junction 6-and turn right onto it. This brings you at at the bottom third of IDrive. (May need another 25c)

If you don't know where you are staying on I drive-or miss that junction then it may be best to start at the bottom.

So-If you miss that then keep on going to junction 2 which is Celebration. After putting the 25c toll in the net-this one is always unmanned -turn right and follow the signs to the 192.
When you reach the top of this road to the 192-stay in the right lane as you are going to turn right along the 192 east. When you get onto the 192 make your way (safely) into the left lane-in less than half a mile you are going to be turning left. You'll see a couple of bridges going over the 192-after the second one -you;ll see the words Xentury City written round a curved wall. You are going to turn up here. This is the very bottom of IDrive.

You can then work your way up here to look out for your accommodation. You'll come to a big T junction after a mile or two-turn left -then right onto world center drive- then next right-this puts you onto IDrive again and again just keep driving up till you see your accommodation.

Hope that helps
Let me know if you are confused. We use junction 2 all the time as we are just up the road from it off the 192 west.

Alison
