OK - maybe someone can help me out here. We are looking to pick up a car in Baltimore (on June 12th) and return it to Philly (on June 19th). Using one of the "questionable" codes I am able to get a pretty decent rate (about $250) with an additional $50 "drop" rate for returning it to a different location. I'm perfectly happy paying that drop rate - but when I book w/o the questionable codes all I am getting is about a $500 rate - no drop rate. That's a bit more than I'd like to pay for the week....
I've tried to Walmart and a couple other legitimate codes and I'm just not getting anywhere but the $500 rate.
Can anyone come up with something better with a legitimate code?
We want to stay with Alamo because we have always had great service and we like to use our debit card. Alamo is the only rental car company we have found that doesn't put an additional hold on the debit card (they only hold the rental car rate).
