Noise on deck 8 and rooms?

Hi!
We know our rooms numbers now and I am so excited! We have 8 rooms in our group, but 4 of them are on deck 8. (8534, 8532-- cat 3 & 8526 and 8524 --cat 4 --on either side of the Roy Disney Suite.) We thought this would be great. Now I am hearing that the noise from the deck parties at night is terrible. Disney said there are VERY few choices for my brother since he needs 2 cribs so they are in that cat 3 suite, but it is right under the Goofy Pool which I hear is loud with music all night. Will not be good for the baby twins.

Anyone had experience with that? Should I suggest we get them moved to another room? If so, wonder why they would put the most expensive rooms in the loudest place?

(As for me in 8526, I'm thrilled!)

We were in 8534 last August and other than hearing some scrapping of chairs at about 7.30am we found it to be a very quiet room.

That's good to know Nick. I read another poster said they heard the band music (from 8034-across the hall) til midnight.

We are in 8542 in February and would love feedback as well. I had asked this question a few months ago and generally got "a little noise can be heard but nothing to ruin your trip or worry about". We will not be able to sleep in past probably 7 or 7:30am because of DS (3) so I'm not too worried about noise. I agree that there must have been some consideration given to the noise level and having the Cat 1 and 2 right there and I'm thinking (hoping) it can't be that bad.

JJsmama....we will be in 8526 in December! We are very excited! I would LOVE for you to do a trip report, send any photos of the room and just hear all about it when you get back! Keep the verandah cool for us!

We stayed in 8534 in June of 2002, and did not notice excessive noise. We're booked again for the cabin this June. Can't wait.

Sounds like the noise in those rooms is not something to worry about. Thanks for the reassurances.

WDWCrazzy,
As for the trip report and photos of the room, two words for you: REMIND me.
(I'm sure I'll post something since I am so excited. So watch for it around Halloween.)

Hi,
we were in the rooms near the suite 2 years ago and did notice a lot of noise on deck party nights. I think there were 3.
We moved down to 6 last year and this year.

We have stayed in cat 4 room 8040 (midship) and cat 3 room 8080 (aft) and have never had a noise problem with either. Sometimes in the morning I would hear the chairs being moved, but it was only because I was already awake, not that it woke me up. Maybe we are just heavy sleepers and were exhausted from our day, but noise was never a problem for any of us.

Enjoy your trip!!!!!

There IS noise in the morning like deck chairs scraping or towel bins rolling, but NOT terrible. It's enough for me to remember but not for me to complain too much about. And I think it was always after 7am or so. There was music late on the ONE night, but it too died down as soon as the Tropicali party was over. And it wasn't horrendous noise where you had to shout to speak or put earplugs in. You could just hear the music, but not blaring.

All this is in regards to 8530, the Roy suite. The other side could/could not be louder I'm not sure. We're partial to this room!

HTH a little!

We'll be in 8528 on 4/17/04 Magic. I've bought a white noise machine just in case. I have a 7 yo DD and she doesn't go to bed very late so I thought I'd have it in case I need to keep down the night time party noise. I'll try to remember to let you all know how it was. I know this is a concern for a lot of people but I've only seen the occasional "chair" scraping comments as well for this particular area of the deck. There may be more noise on other areas.
