NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Hi Judy, Hope you can get your internet connection working right again. Praying that this week can slow down some with all the appointments and also that Rachel continues to improve along with Lisa. Your trip is less than a month away!

Prayers for all those in need!

Praise be to God! I knew that the tests would show that Rachel is improving! Just four weeks until you are in Florida!

Danygirl, will be praying for your daughter. Mercy on a child goes a long way, especially when it is the first time they have made a particular mistake. I hope the school recognizes that she has learned her lesson and will let the matter drop.

Still have a sick kid here. I took Ezra in to our doctor yesterday morning (thank goodness they have Sunday hours) and the on-call doctor was disturbed that it had been 5 days with the fever. He was at 103.4 when we arrived, they gave him some Tylenol and re-checked him 30 minutes later and there had been no change. They did a throat culture (negative) and sent me home with 3 Rxs "to cover all their bases", with strict instructions to bring him back if he is not better by Tuesday. No matter what I do, I can't get the fever under 102 and he is miserable with a headache, and now a bad stomach ache from all the coughing. I called this morning to see what they would suggest for the fever (had been alternating Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours) and the nurse said they don't recommend alternating like that and she'd get back to me, but I haven't heard back. We are doing lukewarm baths, pushing fluids and giving him cool cloths for his neck/underarms/groin to try to cool him down, but the poor kid is still like a furnace. He hasn't eaten more than one bite of cracker since last Wednesday night and is only drinking Gatorade, which worries me with all his new medication on an empty stomach, but when I tried to get him to have some yogurt after the vomiting stopped, he threw it right back up, so I'm not pushing anything else for now. Medical people: any ideas on what I can do to get him more comfortable?

Judy, hope your family has a wonderful day and Rachel starts seeing some rapid improvement.

I am not home, will keep this short. PLEASE call them back and have him seen again today. If they can't/won't take him to the ER. I think he needs IV fluid/hospital. PRAYING!

Judy, so thrilled to see that Rachel is improving! This is fantastic news! Prayers for those that have lost loved ones as well as for Lisa, Diego, JJ and the others that are not feeling well right now. So many with life struggles....prayers will get us all through!!

I agree with Judy, I would take him to the ER if the doctors won't do anything. Especially with that fever not going down at all.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone.

Prayers for all.

How is Ezra? My kids have had those fever viruses, but not 103, for so many days. Will he suck on a Popsicle? II agree with Judy - time for I've fluids. We had to do that for my cat this year- small animals and small people dehydrate quickly. .

Just a quick update here: the doctor's office still did not want to see him yesterday unless he still had a fever today. So we went over their heads. ;) The ER nurse at children's hospital said he was hydrated well enough to avoid IV fluids and concurred that if he still had the fever today to head back to our doctor. At that point, they were counting it as 6 days since it started and they wanted to give him one more day on the antibiotic to see if it would do anything before running more tests. Thank goodness he's been good about sipping on that Gatorade all this time, I think that was his saving grace at avoiding the IV. Anyway, by last night it was still over 100 with the motrin and his cough was awful so I didn't have much hope that anything would be different today, but when I checked on him at 2:00 he seemed a little cooler (didn't want to wake him to take his temp) and by 4:30 when I went in to give him his meds the fever had definitely broken. He got up this morning asking for breakfast and *almost* his usual chipper self, so fingers crossed he is over the worst of it and the fever doesn't come back. Thank you so much for all the advice and prayers, we really appreciate having such good support!

Judy, hope you have a great day today and Rachel continues to show marked improvement!

Judy, we are still in Florida, but I wanted to check in and am delighted to hear Rachel is improving

Hey Judy, thinking and praying for your family. Been checking in on my phone, but hate to type on there because God only knows what my autocorrect will type, lol. Since I'm on the laptop, thought I'd pop in and say hello.

Glad he is doing better this morning. I was very concerned last night when I read your post.

Hi Judy! I am home from Orlando. I had a great trip but I am glad to be home...it was exhausting! TR coming soon but I know what a busy lady you are so I won't be offended if you don't read it :)

I am glad that Rachel is improving and should be fine for your trip! You all deserve some downtime!

Praying for all your needs, as well as the needs of others in this thread. Hope you all are hanging in there okay :)

I came to ask you all to pray for a group of family that has lost their homes today down the street from our house. The fire is still blazing. So far they have lost 5 homes and at least 5 more are threatened. They have evacuated several people also to a local high school. Please join me in praying for them.

Thoughts and prayers to all.
