NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Hi Judy! I'm glad Christian had a good birthday and I hope good news comes on the job front soon. I definitely feel his pain, it was hard enough getting unpaid summer internships and I can't imagine what it's going to be like when I graduate college. I prayed for Rachel and your family at mass this morning, and I'm hoping good news comes from the doctors!

I am doing well...finishing up the two internships I'm working this summer, and then before we know it we will be off to Florida! We are doing all the Disney parks, as well as SeaWorld, Discovery Cove (which I know you have done), and Aquatica! We only have done Discovery Cove once seven years ago, so I'm excited to go back and swim with the dolphins! This week I also arranged a birthday surprise for my mom...I can't say what it is because she peeks on the DISboards every now and then, but I'm so excited and it'll be in the trip report ::yes::

Glad to hear that Christian had a good birthday, and I continue to pray for Rachel.

Hi Judy! I am so far behind on your ptr but wanted to post and say hello! I have been thinking of you all. I will try to get caught up in a few days:)

I am asking for prayers for Ty right now. He is having some problems that we just can't seem to figure out and will be going through some testing soon. Right now we are just trying to stay out of the ER tonight.

I have a little secret!! We are going back to Disney World!! Sierra will be Marching in Disney World next year and she has begged us to come and watch so we are booked! But it will depend on how my mom and Ty are doing if we actually get to go. We are all excited! Let the garage sales begin! Need to make some money to pay for this trip! We really didn't expect to go back anytime soon. So this is a suprise to all of us! So spring break it is. And I am a bit nervous about those crowds and Ty. But at least we wont have the heat to deal with. Right?

Hi Judy, sorry I haven't checked in for so long, been on the road!

Happy belated birthday to Christian :bday: and his movie night looks wonderful. I must say that god help the outcasts from the hunchback is one of my favorite Disney songs (probably only second to beauty and the beast)

I am so sorry to hear about Rachel's fall. Praying she starts to recover. Also praying for Lisa and the rest of you! The insurance sounds so frustrating, sorry you have to go through that.

I am sorry, I don't have time for responses right now, other than to say I am praying for better days for JJ and Ty and everyone else who needs them! :goodvibes

Rachel has not had any changes, which is good and bad...She has so much she needed/wanted to do this week. I have told her to just relax and rest her brain.

Bought five of Lisa's medicines at the pharmacy yesterday...we are already 1/5 of the way to her deductible...Thank goodness for credit cards! I am one who pays CC off every month...not this time, I am afraid. I put the charge on my emergency card, with a lower rate...Really, did I have a choice?

How about a photo of that yummy cake and my Birthday Sweetie to lighten things up. pixiedust:pixiedust:

Love seeing pictures of the children on Christian's birthday. Still keeping Rachel in prayer that healing will be quick. So glad that you are reassuring her to just rest and relax to allow herself to heal. Everyone else will need to understand. God knows the exact amount of time she needs to recover and things will work out in the end. Praying for all the needs and Lisa too!

Yowza! That's one big cake! Tell Christian that I am terribly sorry that I didn't get on the Dis to wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the actual big day. You know what's been going on the last few days at our house. :sad1:

Because I didn't post on his actual birthday, show this to Christian please:

Judy - the one thing that I read over and over again when I was researching concussions and post concussion syndrome was rest, rest, rest both physically and brain rest. I know that a teenager might not like to hear that but it is the only way to deal with it. As I said before, Mom couldn't even tolerate reading or doing puzzles, using the computer etc. Hopefully Rachel is feeling a little better today and each day gets better for her.

On the medicine front - I understand all about that, I rattle when I walk from so many of them and I think Lisa has me beat, I remember you writing before about how many she has to take and she takes them all at once, I try to do that but sometimes I have to split them up to get them all down, and the little sneaky allergy med jumps out of my hand all the time, I find it or my BP med on the floor all the time , probably days later!

I love seeing pics of your kids, Judy! You can tell Rachel isn't feeling well. I continue to pray for a full recovery for her!

Many prayers on the insurance front as well. I, too, will keep my opinions to myself, but let's just say I'm right with you on the outrage.

Hi, Judy! I'm still here!!!

Happy late birthday to Christian! Hoping Rachel is having a better day today and the rest is doing her some good. How's Lisa doing?

All is ok here. DH goes back to surgeon tomorrow to see if he can be released to go back to work. Not sure if he will let him or not. Been 4 months this week and I think he is really doing good. Still some nerve pain and muscle aches from the healing but getting better each day. My grandfather has been is now out of the rehab facility and home. We are getting hospital bed today, working with home health and look for help to stay at night to keep him from wondering around and falling. He's done this one us a couple of times. We go to urology on Friday to see what can be done with the bladder. Been stressful but we are all getting through. DH and I got away for a few days this weekend which was really nice.

Sorry to hear about the insurance changing on you. They can be a joke sometimes!

Take care!

I used to always tell my dad that he rattled when he walked. You made me giggle when I saw that.

I'm sorry that Rachel isn't any better. Like you said though at least she isn't any worse either. I got my last and worst concussion about 9 years ago when I was 21, in a bad car wreck, it took lots of rest and I continued to get headaches every day for about 2 years after that, according to the doctor there was no medical reason for them. I still get them occasionally but not as often or as bad. Hopefully Rachel won't have any long term effects from hers though. Sorry about having to pay for the meds. I understand they can get expensive.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them,

Judy, So sorry to hear Rachel isn't feeling better but I am glad to hear she isn't feeling worse. We have been thinking about you all and of course keeping you guys in our prayers. Glad Christian had a good birthday. That cake looks yummy! We are home and it was a much more amazing trip than I ever imagined. Can I just say "Biggest Pixie Dust Yet" really amazing trip and I am still floating on cloud nine. I really need to work on my PTR. I need to share the last few trips so I can get to the amazing time we had this last weekend and some HUGE news.

Judy,

Just saw a posting on the Budget board about a SeaWorld special. Weekday tickets for $50.

http://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworl...MostPopularTourist?from=Front_Page_Main_Promo

I don't know if this is within your budget but defiantly cheaper than one day WDW tickets.

Hope Rachel continues to heal!

Belated happy birthday to Christian. Love Rachel's t-shirt in those pics. Hope she is feeling better and that Lisa and everyone else is ok :grouphug:

Happy birthday to Christian. Prayers that he gets a job for his birthday!!!! One with great medical insurance so your costs go down a tiny bit! I had 5 dr/dentist visits with one kid on a two week period. (Dentist, pediatrician for nosebleeds, ent, pediatrician 2x for infected pierced ear (second time for this ear!!). All I could think was that my mom and you go through this ever week!

Continued prayers for Rachel.

Loved the pictures from Christian's birthday.

Just catching up! First, so sorry about Rachel still struggling. I can tell in the picture she is not herself. Bless her heart. I know it can take a while. One of my Baylie's friends had a concussion and believe it or not, they found a chiari when they did the mri and ct to check the concussion.

Secondly, Happy Birthday to Christian! The cake looks amazing.

Thanks for the sweet message you left on my caringbridge page. I'd love to get together and I think it would do me some good to have someone to talk to who understands. Really struggling here. I can come your way :)

Love and hugs all around. PM me the best time to call. xo
