It feels like a Fall day outside, chilly!

I'm debating if I want to go to Michaels or AC Moore today. I am feeling crafty, I need a craft project. Hmmm.

So starting Tuesday my 3 week travel expedition starts. We head to Houston to meet up with some friends for the day and fly to Michigan to spend the week with Phillip's parents. Then we fly back to Houston spend more time with friends and visit the Austin area where we will be moving next year. Then we come home for a couple of days and then I head to visit my mom and dad in Kansas for 6 days and upon my return the next day Phillip flies out and heads to Alaska for a week... okay just typing all that made me tired LOL!

Happy Sunday! The sun is out here! I shall be hitting the lounge chair shortly.

Katie - that job sounds great. Right up your alley. In terms of timing with the other job , things have a way of working themselves out! And yeah for getting back on the looking at houses horse (even if it is before cart ).

Jen- you have a busy next couple of weeks! Will you have any DIS access during this trip? I had forgotten it was the Austin area you're moving to. I hear GREAT things about that area.

LL- any crafty inspiration coming your way?

Paula- a digital scrapbook sounds neat! Hope you're having fun at the baptism. Tyler has got himself a terrific godmother! Oh and totally not fair that your mom wouldn't let you be in a Tom Cruise movie! Good thing you're not still bitter. Just kidding, if I were you I'd never let my mom forget it!

Hi all, Riley is fine. We picked her up yesterday around 11. She's on 2 types of pain meds, the same kind we're used to. She fell asleep around 11:30 when we got her home, she's been getting up in 1-2 minute intervals to pee, get some water or food and is going right back to sleep. She's slept for over 24 hours now! Blake tried to play with her yesterday and she caught her babies when he threw them to her, so she's still in there! We went on a mad-ebaying spree yesterday, organized most of the entire apartment trying to find things to sell. Our orthopedic surgeon wrote us a detailed letter for us to give to our insurance company explaining to them that her leg break was not due to her previous one and to contact him if they have any further questions. If they except it, we'll get back around $1100! So cross your fingers for us...I'm going to submit it first thing tomorrow morning and it normally takes about a week in a half to get the check if we're going to get one. Here's a pic of Riley though, her daddy fell asleep on the floor with her yesterday when we brought her home! Long night for all of us! I miss you all though, and hope you're having a great weekend!

Jess -- The pictures of Blake and Riley are just precious! So glad that she is home and recovering. I am crossing my fingers for the insurance claim!

Jess- that is one good daddy to fall asleep on the floor with Riley ( who looks precious all tucked in her blankies). Glad she's home and playing with her toys. Fingers crossed for the claim.

Hi Girls!!

The baptism was lovely... Tyler is a very handsome little man! No pics yet... my camera died, so I have to wait to get pics from DMil... hopefully I will bet them before Tyler graduates!!

I spent the weekend working on my digital scrapbook. I finished Allison's State meet one and also did a dance page to print out for in my 8x8 photo frame that is sadly outdated (I still have Valentines day stuff in it!)

I thought i'd share what i was working on.... the format comes out goofy...so i'm not sure how it will print on here I ended up uploading them to CM for printing, then copying them back into my 'my pictures' file to get them to convert to jpeg. So until i post them...i don;t know how blurry they may look... bear with me!!

this is a 2 page spread... hopefully i can get them to post side by side for the full effect.... if not, please use your imagination!!

I've been using the Creative Memories Storybook Creator Plus for the digi-scrapping. This was my 1st go at it. It was a little cumbersome til I got the hang of it...but now I'm finding it pretty easy. I downloaded alot of the patterns/papers/embellishments from CM too.. but I also got some from other sources via the net. CM has a demo version that can give you an idea of what it's like to use, but it's not the 'full version' so it is pretty limited... but worth a try just to get the idea

the free version can be downloaded HERE!!! There are also free 'add-ons' to download too... which gives more options for pages and such.


I actually enrolled in the "Complete Course in Professional Photography" offered by the New York Institute of Photography. It is 30 lessons... i get 32 lesson texts, 6 'starting your business' texts, 6 DVD presentations, 16 Audio programs to assist with the lessons, several photo project kits, and some other stuff. I want to be a better photographer... but I'm not a complete 'novice' so I thought this program would work for me. I actually 1st heard about it here on the DIS in the photography boards. Several of the comments there were negative, but primarily because the posters were more advanced (I only dream of taking pics like they do!!) and it wasn't challanging enough, especially the 1st half.

I wanted to sign up months ago... but the course is $1200... (which you can pay in monthly installments) but I was not willing to part with that kind of cash. I have been saving up a bit here and there since. They sent me a letter last week that they were offering an enrollment deal.... $750 if you pay cash or $998 if you do the installments. I picked the cash plan... since i had most of it already saved up.

You can check it out at http://www.nyip.com They have other courses available too... for point and shoots and also photoshop.... but since i wasn't interested in those, I don't know the price.
