Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

We don't usually use cash so that probably wouldn't work for us, we use our debit cards. We'll come up with something I am sure, we always do. :thumbsup2
We don't usually use cash either, but the post office here with all the ebaying I do doesn't take cards, so I just put the change in when I break a dollar. Or I try and get $20 out here and there, it adds up really quick, but hope you can think of something!

Oh Stace! I didn't see your part 2 either! Shame!

I did find out that because the course I want to take is a certificate program, I can't get a regular student loan which means I need to get a personal loan. With my credit being on the crappy side with my debt I highly doubt I can get one. I am feeling very discouraged. :guilty:

Oh no! In Illinois, you can take it as a certificate OR an Associates in Applied Sciences degree. Is there any other institution that it would be different near you?

She's a wise one, that Rachael! Forgive me but I've forgotten -- are you going for a day or two out of your Captiva get-away and also in Sept? :woohoo:

How's everyone else doing? I'm home today.

2 weeks and no news on DVC. Getting a bit nervous. But on the plus side I am 2 weeks from ADR day! Time to get planning! :yay:

Ohhh! ADR day! I'm really flustered w/what to do on my 1st MK day for lunch or dinner and my full Epcot (2nd visit) day. D'oh! I know I said Beach Club but I don't know if I want to get there and then leave a few hours later for that late breakfast ADR. Grrrr! And now I'm thinking Garden Grill sounds awesome for that Epcot day instead. :confused3

We are NOT going during the Captiva vacation because it's gonna be surface-of-the-sun-hot and I don't want to drive all that way, spend the day in 9/10 crowds in blistering heat, only to have to drive 4 hours back. Jim wouldn't bend on staying 1 night so we're just scrapping it all together.

Hey Gnomies!

Well, after a crummy monday, tuesday was much better! I went shopping (not much - I'm BROKE!), went to lunch at Olive Garden (God Bless your country and the Olive Garden!)

There's no Olive Gardens in Canada? Mmmm.... their salads are yummmmy!

Blake and I are already up to $100 in change for our Disney trip, maybe you should do that too but for your school!

Another thing is- do they accept payments quarterly or do you have to pay for the entire program up front? You should meet w/their financial services department and see what they can help with in your situation! :)

The school has a set payment plan but it's just too much to put up front for us, we dont' have it. It's just a bummer. I'm still going to search out options for financing.

Keep investigating. Don't give up!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Oh! I forgot to add, FEEL BETTER C!

Thanks! :upsidedow

That's a great savings technique! I know it's kind of a reverse logic "savings" technique but I have a Disney visa and I love how the free $/points add up. I think I have a gift card of at least $150 for my Sept trip! :woohoo:

Agree on avoiding lines when is surface of sun hot! Much better to stay at the beach! :beach:

Re: ADRs in Sept- your full Epcot day is Sat 9/26? Does Garden Grill serve breakfast? Or just lunch? Either way I hear that the character interaction there is great. No matter where you choose, I'd love to join you and Rachael IF it works out. I don't want to impose on your trip! :flower3: Remind me what your other meal plans are? I think I love the ADR planning best! :woohoo:

------

Speaking of dining, does anyone know...are the characters officially back at Liberty Tree Tavern?

God Bless your country and the Olive Garden!

:rotfl2: OK, this just made me Laugh!! I love olive garden too! Way to kick your coworkers bootie!

Good advice from the others about talking to their finacial services to see what info they can give you. My mom always told me not to make someone elses decision for them. Talk to people and see what they say. The worst that can happen is that they say no and at least you will know you tried!

I've only been once in my whole life and that was maybe 10-15 years ago!

 You must remedy this at once C! I prescribe an evening out to help you feel better. They have a killer lemonade drink (lemoncillo or something like that)

I try and get $20 out here and there, it adds up really quick, but hope you can think of something!

I'm doing this now for gnomefest. I figured if it's acceptable for Greg to buy 1 or 2 CD's each month, I can have $20 for drinking around the world! :rotfl:

I would think Rachel would enjoy Crystal Palace, I though lunch looked good and the character interaction is fun.

I really like OG's salads, I always ask for a side of dressing to dip my breadsticks in - YUM!

Julez, the certificate program I am looking at is for just Medical Billing & Coding which I am more interested in. I'm going to do some more research, just haven't had time yet.

I don't know if LTT has the characters back yet or not. I am sure a quick jaunt over to the dining board can answer that. :thumbsup2

Good Afternoon Gnomies,
Ughh this conference is killing me but thankfully they let us out early today. Of course that means I have time to clean my house and get packed to go visit my mom LOL!!!

LL...keep looking into your options...there has to be a way somehow! I know you figure it out!!!!

C...I'm sorry you are not feeling well! Get better soon!! Can't wait to see how those ADRs end up LOL!!!! Of course I have a vested interest LOL!!! Hope you hear about your DVC soon, I'm sure that is nerve racking!

Julez...good luck at work today I will wish you a very fast day!!

Stace...Great minds my friend LOL!! I had Olive Garden twice yesterday! Soup and Salad for lunch, and the lasagna rolls for dinner...just finished my leftovers! I still wish you all the best when dealing with your co-worker!!

Hi Katie!!!!! Hi Jess!!! Hi MM!!!!! Hi Paula!!!:banana::yay::yay:

The day is over sooooon! Wooo HOoo!!!!

LL- OOooooOOOH! Dang, that stinks then. Still go talk to them though. Never know!

Hi Gnomies!

How are you feeling, C?

I am not sure about the school thing, it may have to wait another year. I can live with that. I am still thinking and exploring.

On a completely unrelated subject...I really want lobster. I need my summer lobster feast. Yum Yum. :cloud9:

Hey Gnomies!

Another craptastic day at work! I was there for my 3 hours and not ONE customer came in! Not one! Not one! It was awful!! Awful! It's days like today that leave me wondering how much longer I'll have a job there! UGH! But, I went and hung out with my mum and her boyfriend after and mooched dinner from them which was nice! Right now I am just looking up scrapbooking templates and watching Wall-E! I really wished right now that I lived on the Axiom and robots could do everything whilst I just lied in my hover-lounger!

Since I was in a rotten mood earlier I was looking up flight costs for our little gathering in april and it looks like I can get a flight from Detroit for under $200!! :woohoo: If I can afford it I may just fly from London to Detroit instead of taking the airport shuttle! I hate the shuttle...If only Disney would release their rates for next year so I could get a budget going! Speaking of which, do we have an official Dining venue list going? Does anyone have any events planned that involve extra cash at all? I simply can't keep it all straight but I am ready to start getting a folder organized!

JenJolt - you had OG twice yesterday!!!??? Oh I am soooooooooooooooooo super jealous! Their breadsticks with the alfredo dipping sauce are one of the best things in this world! How were the little lasagna thingies?

C - I hope you're feeling a bit better this evening! And I forgot to mention this morning in regards to the DVC worries - if it doesn't work out, it just means something better is out there waiting for you! :)

Jess - Was thinking of you yesterday! There was True Blood jewellry at one of the stores we went to in Port Huron! There was a locket with pictures of Bill and Soookie in it which was kind of hilarious! I wish I'd had my camera!

Katie - how was your day with the boys?

Julez - I agree with Katie, I bet Rachael would love Crystal Palace! Plus it's delish!

Hope everyone has a good night!

Oh Stace that is TOO funny! And btw, craptastic is one of my favorite words

Jen-Sorry about the conference! Hope it's over soon!

C-You feeling better yet girl?

Well girls, I have to get an allergy test done in the morning. Anyone ever have one of those or know someone that' had one? I'm a little nervous. Hopefully though they'll figure out what all I'm allergic too because I feel like I'm always itchy, especially when I come back from school and work in the lab. Oy! Wish me luck!

Good morning gnomies,

Thanks for the feel better wishes. Unfortunately, I don't really but have to go to work anyway. :headache: Being a grown up can really stink sometimes.

Apparently I am really missing something with the Olive Garden. I will have to check it out sometime. There is one in my town.

Well at least it's Thursday. Wonder what CP & family are doing in the World today. :) Just looked it up - it's "whatever" day with dinner at Boma!!

Have a good day!

Seriously. I'm forever jinxed! :sad2:

Even typing plans on someone ELSE'S PTR is bad for me!!

Well, had another awful experience at the bank yesterday and discovered that our total charges those A-holes are giving us come to nearly $500 :scared1:. More than half of those are the direct result of the bank's practices. I'm so upset. Jim is through the roof angry. And the only thing we can do is watch them steal from us.

I had to make a very sad and grown-up decision that had me sobbing all last night and taking double of my happy pill for today so I can make it through the day w/o losing it completely. Cancel my trip. It's the only thing I can do to recover those funds. I'm selling our 4 1-day comp tickets and that, with the refund of the payments I've made, is enough to cover what we've lost.
:sad1::sad1::sad1:

Last night I was swearing away Disney forever- these boards too... but this morning, with the help of my seratonin-reuptake-inhibitors........ I'm just deciding to look forward to Gnomefest in April. :thumbsup2

But I am disappointed, because I had some dang good dining thrown in there! popcorn::

Oh Julez, I am so sorry. You need to find yourself a new bank!

Sorry you aren't feeling better, C. I hope you have a good day anyways, hopefully work will be smooth sailing.

Stace, sorry about the craptastic day. I too, love that word. Hehehe.

I've been rewatching the second season of Grey's Anatomy and my seriously word count has at least tripled. :rotfl2:

I miss CP. I hope she is having a wonderful week. I've tried not to wish my week to go by fast in hopes that hers stays slow. :goodvibes

Awww... Julez. That totally stinks. So sorry. But gnomefest is definitely something to look forward to!!

LL - so sweet about not wishing your week away hoping CP's will stay slow. I'm trying to do the same but am so excited for her to come back and tell us all about it! :rotfl:

I've procrastinated as long as I could... now off to work. :headache:

Well, Disney decided they want to exercise their right of first refusal and buy the contract I wanted. :headache:

So it's no DVC for me... At least not now.

Oh well. Everything happens for a reason! Must be something else coming for me to spend my money on!!
