Meatloaf

That is one meal that I absolutely HATE!

I really want to call about that pincode offer.

I've gotten two pincodes in the last 2 weeks. One was the kids free thing, the other was for the free dining that I already have, although I keep meaning to call about that one to see if it's any discount over what we have already.

I LOOOOOOOOVE Meatloaf, LL! But than again, my mom never made it as a kid so that's prolly why. Also, it's easy to make!

Oh, here's my meatloaf recipe:

1. Pick up ground beef.
2. Pick up meatloaf seasoning packet.
3. Make sure you have ketchup.
4. Follow the directions on the packet.

Thanks for the encouragment yesterday girls. Although last night didn't help when I got semi-attacked by an email from Blake's sister. Blake tried to type up a mock response "from me" but I ended up deleting it because I wasn't ready to respond quite yet to that one. OTTV!
Today is our Biology picnic and I tried to kill my supervisor with kindness this morning by getting here early and helping to cut up veggies, etc. I feel better about myself today. Hopefully I can just get out of funk (thankfully my allergies feel a little better today because of the rain) and I can work on my research all weekend.

Katie enjoy your slow day...and the grocery store. I'm going to go back to Wally World on my way home to get things for this weekend. I think I'm going to make a pizza fondue for dinner and see if Phillip likes it LOL!! Although I've been really wanting meatloaf...anyone have an easy recipe for that LOL

didn't make it to the grocery store, figured I would just get my butt to work since we had a slow morning and I ended up taking Patrick to school because we didn't move quickly enough for him to grab the bus. Oh well..

Here's our meatloaf recipe:
For every 1-1.5 lbs of groundbeef, take 1 egg, a handful of breadcrumbs (we use italian ones), 1/2 an onion diced finely, a dash of worchester sauce, a big squirt of ketschup and about 3 teaspoons of dijon mustard, blend together..I put mine in a small pyrex pan just kinda made into a meatloaf shape, squirt ketschup on top in a fancy squiggly pattern and put in the oven for 45 mins to an hour...about 1/2 way through, I pour the grease out if any accumulates

My recipe is pretty similar but I tend to use 1/2 ground beef and 1/2 ground turkey. I don't add mustard, I also use the italian breadcrumbs and also grated parmesan cheese. I like to bake it in a jumbo muffin tin so they are individual loafs, they bake about 30-45 minutes. I also like to put some mozzerella cheese in the middle before baking.

I hate meatloaf. I can't even stand the smell of it. When I was living with my parents, my mom would warn me about meatloaf night and I would go out after work and not come home for a few hours so the smell could go away.

Out of curiosity, did you get a PIN code for free dining valid during the public free dining promotion? Mine was from Oct-Thanksgiving (after the public one expires) I priced out rooms/tickets for that time and compared it to what was stated in my e-mail. It was very clearly rack rate and base ticket price quoted then you get the free dining on top of that. I thought it was interesting though that they only give the quick-service plan if you want to stay at a value resort.

I really go back and forth in my mind as to whether I want to do the dining plan for gnomefest. I wouldn't say no to free dining but if I have 1 big meal in a day, I prefer to eat light the rest of the day. We did the regular dining plan last summer and although I liked the convenience and probably got my money out of it, I felt like a stuffed pig most of the time, and the heat didn't help. I'm now thinking of just planning our gnomefest ADR's and doing whatever strikes me at the time for other food

How about the rest of you? What are your thoughts?

Oh, and Julez, you did miss the first ADR vote, it was for MK. Jess is in charge, she will have to let you know how we decided to do the voting. Have most gnomies voted Jess?

Oh man LL! I know how you feel...that's how we felt pricing out our potential trip. Sounded good with the price, but forgot about free dining not being out yet, then with the plane tickets, it just went downhill from there!

I also check southwest first, I can usually get a $69 deal each way for both os us and it ends up totaling about $318 for the 2 of us.

Hmm, that seems pretty equivalent to what I was given in my PIN code for free dining. $472 per adult for 4 nights in value room, 4 day base tickets and the quick-service plan which is only what...$30/night. Really if you do the math, we got basically the same offer.

What was the gift card offer that people got?

$418 sounds pretty decent to me but being near a major hub, you probably can find good deals more frequently than I can. I have priced out flights before and found driving to Minneapolis would save hundreds of dollars. When you factor in the drive to Des Moines (an hour from here), the time spent flying to a hub and layover time, driving to Minneapolis (less than 4 hours) would be about the same time commitment to get a cheaper, and direct flight!

We do have Allegiant Air which is direct and decent priced but only flys into Sanford so you either have to take a taxi (I once priced out close to $100 each way) or rent a car (which is what we did last year but we would have needed one anyway, just going to WDW probably isn't worth it)

I say drop her, I admit, I don't know who she is either!
