Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Oooh Easter blizzards sound delish! Easter not big with my family either so really just hanging out. Which I love.

I liked Nights in Rodanthe too. I've actually been to Rodanthe and it's pretty much like it seems in the movie - a really cute little town, no chain stores, a general store that sells everything and the gorgeous beach! I also love Diane Lane and Richard Gere. :lovestruc

Hi gnomies!

Hope you are all having a terrific weekend! I hope you'll indulge a mini-vent? :flower3: I sometimes have a hard time with holidays. Just because I feel like I'm getting a bit long in the tooth (where did that saying come from? :confused3) and am not married and so desperately want a family. And yet, oddly enough, I am fiercely resistant to anything that would set me on that path like getting set up, internet dating, etc. I do have "sorta beau" but if I'm honest that's all it is... just "sorta." For him too. I don't know where I went wrong or how I got so screwed up. :confused3

OK- vent/pity party over. Thanks for listening, gnomies! :goodvibes I just priced out a Thurs thru Mon visit to WDW in May... ~$500 between flight and staying in a moderate... Hmmm... :rolleyes1 Would sure love to see Flower and Garden! And I do have an AP. :rolleyes1 Of course I still would have to budget for food and champagne.

I am so tempted you have no idea. :upsidedow

Awww C, :hug::grouphug::hug:

May!? Really!? :yay: Is there any chance that it would be when I was there because then I might have to drive down there and convince you! :rolleyes1

:hug:C...you are one of the most amazing people I have ever met!! Your time will be coming I know it!!!

Ooh..what were the dates what were the dates...I hope it would be when I could see you too LOL!

In the spirit of the day, I am here to egg you on to book a Flower and Garden trip! You could do scouting for next year, and take lots of pictures to inspire everyone.

I totally get the relationship/family/kids sadness. Of course holidays exacerbate everything. I will put in a plug for e Harmony. I know of some exceptional relationships and marriages resulting from their site, and universally they were folks who had been waiting a long time for that happiness. You totally deserve the best! :flower3: :cheer2:

Hoppy Easter to my dear Gnomies!!

We have done our hunt and ate breakfast (caramel pull-aparts, bacon and strawberries - Yummy) After church I will put the ham in and mix up the cheesy potatoes. Rolls and asparagus at the last minute and that will be our dinner. I LOVE Easter food more than Thanksgiving!

Jen and Jackie, sorry you have to start thinking about work again!

I hope you all have a terrific Easter!

Hi, Katie!!! What a wonderful day filled with great meals you have had! We went to MIL's for brunch, and I am getting ready to make egg salad for a light dinner.

I am still not facing the fact that I have to go to school tomorrow. :lmao:

I also read that Tom Selleck was going to be Indy but due to scheduling conflicts with Magnum PI had to drop out. Harrison Ford was cast just a few weeks before filming began. Isn't that amazing!? I can't imagine anyone else being Indy.

We don't have any plans today. My family isn't big into Easter and Marc's family goes to the Cape. It's too long of day for Marc to go down there when he has to work tonight. We are having roast chicken for dinner. Marc just went out to return our movies and get some more. I just watched Nights in Rodanthe. Oh my goodness, such a good movie, a real tear jerker. We have watched SIX movies this weekend. We have a redbox rental right down the road, it's $1 per movie per night so we have only spent $6 for hours of entertainment. :lmao: He was also going to stop at Dairy Queen for some Easter Blizzards. ;)

I did know that about Tom Selleck -- I am so glad Harrison Ford got the part instead.

Sounds like a wonderfully relaxing day for you and Marc -- and Easter blizzards sound perfect!

Ahhh, Christine -- I will second/third/fourth what the other Gnomies have said -- you are a truly amazing person!!!

I will be so jealous if you decide to take a May jaunt down to WDW -- but super excited if you do because that will mean another of your awesome TRs. Are there AP discounts on your room for the dates you are looking at?

Awww C, :hug::grouphug::hug:

May!? Really!? :yay: Is there any chance that it would be when I was there because then I might have to drive down there and convince you! :rolleyes1

Do it! Drive down to C and convince her to take a May trip -- while you are down there convince her to buy DVC while you are at -- make the drive worth it and all! ;)

I agree with Heather here, C! You know where we all stand on the internet sites & all that. You are too smart, funny, AND CUTE to let anything stand in your way anymore!

The one thing I believe is that life plays out the way it's supposed to, with ourselves being our only roadblocks. Your time will come - and right when it was supposed to. And when it DOES- everything will make sense about why it took so long.

WE LOVE YOU CHRISTINE! :lovestruc:lovestruc

May I just say that my gnomies rock!! :flower3:  :flower3:

Awww C, :
May!? Really!? Is there any chance that it would be when I was there because then I might have to drive down there and convince you!

I'm not tied to any date in particular. I just plugged random dates into the online thing but I could be swayed one way or another. What dates are your trip? :rolleyes1

:C- you are one of the most amazing people I have ever met!! Your time will be coming I know it!!!

Ooh..what were the dates what were the dates...I hope it would be when I could see you too LOL!

Thanks so much, Jen! :goodvibes You're so sweet! Dates not set in stone. Nor is the trip in any sense. I just "booked" my Sept dates with my parents to watch my dog and they were like "What? Disney? Again?" :headache:

Seriously! Don't keep us in suspense, C!

No suspense intended. At this point just a pipe dream. But maybe... they say that dreams do come true... :)

Hugs C Just remember, your gnomies love you!!

Thanks Katie! :goodvibes That helps a lot. I know we're "just" internet friends but I feel like we're all so much more than that and I love each and every one of you!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Egg me on! :lmao: Too cute! Thanks Heather!! :goodvibes I have also heard good things about e Harmony. Up to this point I've thought how is it possible to start a relationship over the internet?? But meeting you all I certainly know it is possible to form deep lasting friendships over the internet... so who knows, maybe romance is possible? :confused3

Thanks CP! :goodvibes I didn't know about Tom Selleck either - can't quite picture him as Indy. Yes, LL, come on down and convince me to buy DVC. Go ahead... twist my arm! :rolleyes1

Sorry you are facing the Sunday dread. Always worse after a week off. :headache:

As for May, it's just a dream right now. There are AP rates but I'm not sure how discounted they are. ~$140/night for moderates. From what I've seen online the crowds this past week have been out of control -- Magic Kingdom and water parks closed to capacity!

Awww... thank you SO much Julez!:hug: I appreciate it more than I can say. I totally agree that things are meant to be and finally make sense once they happen. It's just in the interim where you don't know what is going on that it gets frustrating! But if it turns out that I end up with a Disney loving (heck, even tolerating) guy it will all be worth it! ;) And hey, wouldn't it be fun to have a gnomie wedding in WDW?? :rolleyes1 Promise here and now that you'd all be invited! :goodvibes

Hi guys!! We're back!
P.S. C, you are wonderful girl! Don't get your hopes up, we love you!

So, it was cold. I left Nobby in the car while we did the park, he wanted to sit in the sun and warm himself and told me to pick up him when we were ready to do the chocolate factory.

Here's a few pics from the park of my mom, myself and blake!

Quick one real fast...CP: is it your daughter that likes the milkman dude in WDW? If not, let me know that I'm totally going crazy, lol, but this reminded me of him!

We were in the park about 5 hours or so, I knew Nobby would be getting cranky so I ran to the car really fast to grab him and put some of my souvenirs away so we wouldn't have to carry them. Nobby insisted on taking a picture in front of the Chocolate Factory sign to prove to his Gnomies that he was there :cool2:

I had to hold Nobby down throughout the ride! He kept wanting to jump out and swim in all the chocolate! :sad2:
I took a redneck picture of our ride photo

And throughout the giftshop, Nobby "tried" to stay out of trouble and I tried to get him to consume as little sugar in there as possible. Of course he did find some things to do, so here's a few of my favorites!

Nobby said that since the "Chocolate Princesses" were behind bars, he could pose with them really quick and it wouldn't be like cheating on Snow White. Here's him with all the ladies

This one was his favorite of the bunch

All in all, I think he had a great day, what do you think? :thumbsup2

And of course I had to grab 2 light pictures for Miss LL :goodvibes

Very cute pix of Nobby! Man, he's one well-traveled Gnome.

What captions did I put in his album, Jess? I don't remember which pix I need to have printed out!!

PM them to me though, so those who havent recieved him yet are surprised!

Any of my Gnomegirls want to chat?

C, My dates are May 22 - 30. I would love to have some champagne with you! ;) :worship:  :wizard:

I can't believe those crowds!! My goodness. :scared1:

As for the internet relationships, I know I have said it before but I thank goodness everyday for the powers that made Marc & I join the same dating site at the same time. :goodvibes

Nobby's adventures were so fun to read about!

I adore the Hershey lights, you are the best for taking them for me!

C, don't forget that it is the week before and the week after Easter -- those are crazy times for WDW -- as soon as everyone heads back to school, I bet things will quiet down making for a peaceful relaxing time in our favorite place.

Jess, those are great pics from Hershey Park -- it looks like a lot of fun! Yes, my daughter is the one who likes Bo at DHS -- I will have to show her the milk truck! :lmao: I love Nobby with the Barbies -- too funny!

Geez Nobby - what would Snow White say?! Looks like you guys had a fabulous time!

Happy Easter Gnomies!! I hope you all had a nice holiday! I've hardley been home at all between kicking butt at work and spending some time with my family and I also crashed Lauren's (DBFF) family's Easter BBQ!

C - I totally understand how you feel. Being single can be very tough. But we all love you, you know that! And you will find the right person when it is truly the right time for - that is what I honestly believe. Even if it doesn't always feel like it....:) If you ever wanna talk, you know I'm here for you.

I hope you guys all have a good Monday! :)

btw Katie - you can come to my house and make breakfast like that! Sounds delish! I had chocolate hee hee hee!

Jess, it looks like Nobby had a great time! I love all the pictures!! Too cute.

That would be fun. Not sure I'll actually do a trip but we'll see...

I love WDW but I'm not sure I'd love it in those crowds. :sad2:

You and Marc are definitely one of the success stories! :thumbsup2

D'oh...how did I forget it was Easter? You're right that's probably what it is. I don't think I could ever go at such a peak time. By the way, gnomies, am I nuts or did there used to be a Disney parade on tv on Easter Sunday just like Christmas? :confused3

Thanks Stacy! The Easter BBQ sounds like fun! How is work going?

Morning girls!

Stace, it was good to hear from you and that all is well.

Jen and CP, I hope the kids take it easy on you for your first day back.

Everyone have a good Monday!
