Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Hello gnomies!

I had a busy Monday too. I think the sunshine supercharged everyone over the weekend b/c they were all raring to go today. Don't they know I just want to ease on into things on Mondays? And Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri.

So a friend of mine said the magic words today. "I'm planning a Disney trip. Will you help?" I am giddy with excitement. I am a bit afraid that I overwhelmed her a bit though. I have to remember to take it slow and not reveal so much of my geek-i-tude quite so quickly. She was like "wow. how do you know all that?" And we haven't even scratched the surface. Wait until we talk ADRs!

Julez - sorry you had a busy day. Look at you rocking the weight loss ticker too. Good for you!

Katie- LOVING the crowd calendar. As LL said it's becoming more and more real!

Jess- glad you had a good weekend. Sorry your allergies are bad. Mine haven't started acting up yet but I'm prepared for it any day now. If it's the price I have to pay for this nice weather I will gladly do it!

Jen wanted me to let all the Gnomies know that she is on a "Sanity Vacation" at the Beach. She will be home tomorrow. She wanted me to tell C that she had a glass of wine on the beach and thought of her!

Oooh a sanity vacation. Now that sounds nice. And well-deserved for our Miss Jen.

How nice to be thought of while savoring a glass of wine. I don't want to be rude so I'll have to pour a glass in Jen's honor now.

And I can't get quotes on room rates for Feb 2010? Trying to help my friend and I put in her dates and I got an error message. Is that normal? Can you not book a year in advance? She wants to go in prime time in Feb 2010. Which at first I was jealous of but then realized we'll be going in April with 5's on the crowd calendar!

LL, I need a sanity vacation as well -- so jealous that Jen is taking one!

C, they won't release packages and rooms until about August for 2010. That stinks if you are trying to plan a February vacation for a friend.

And I can't get quotes on room rates for Feb 2010? Trying to help my friend and I put in her dates and I got an error message. Is that normal? Can you not book a year in advance? She wants to go in prime time in Feb 2010. Which at first I was jealous of but then realized we'll be going in April with 5's on the crowd calendar!

They have!?! Where did you hear that?

You can't book online for 2010, only through 12/31/09. She could call and book a package on the phone though. The rates are not out yet, they don't come out until August sometime.

I am so annoyed!

I have been on the search for a dress for a month or so and I finally found the perfect one. Not only could I wear it to the wedding on the 16th but I could wear it at Disney one day if I wanted.

Well the purple color I wanted was on backorder so I decided to go with the blue. I get home, go to order and now that one is on backorder too! I am so upset. It's not often I find a dress that I adore. I want to cry.

Oh dear. Sometimes back orders come through sooner than forecasted. Maybe you go ahead and order it anyway. You can always return it. Or "force/convince" Marc to find another occasion at which you can wear it.

Bummer about the coke slushies!! I never did have one from WDW but we did stop several times at 7-11 so I could have my fix (we don't have them in Iowa so I'm always on the lookout)

How lucky for Jen to take a mental health vacation! I hope all is well.

I spent yesterday and today finally sorting through pictures (mostly focusing on Disney). I have been regretting not getting a photo album last year and have watched them on E-bay but they are not cheap. Today I found a cute album with Pooh and Tigger (not from WDW but cute) for $16. the guy has 2 of them and combined shipping for me so I got a pretty good deal. I still have to go through my photopass CD and order the pics.

Okay, so here's me worrying again (I am such a Piglet) -- what if the swine flu does become a pandemic and they don't let anyone travel??? Then, I won't be able to go on my June trip to AKL! I am so worried about this thing -- and not just because of the WDW trip -- pandemic sounds so terrifying (I think I watched Outbreak too many times)!

I hear ya! Connor's school always seems to be a breeding ground for all sorts of illnesses -- I do hope it doesn't make its way to Georgia, but we have a very high Hispanic population in our corner of the state because of the textile mills.

I loved watching Outbreak and Twister in the 90's -- now I am paying for it!

Sorry about the dress LL...that stinks. Maybe you should order it anyway, sometimes they come in earlier than they expect....

Katie...good snag on the photo albums!! I finally got all my pics printed from LAST years girls trip...but I've still done nothing with them It's on deck as my next photo project....

CP and Katie... don't sweat the swine flu!! It'll all work out. I doubt it will affect your WDW plans....however my BFFs trip to Cancun is currently not looking good People in Mexico don't have very good access to medical care..and they're probably gonna have a mess there... BUT if us folks north of the boarder follow the current recommendations of NOT going to work/school if you develop ANY kinds of flu symptoms AND see a doctor promptly....I don't think it will spread too bad (at least I hope it won't)
I get why there's confirmed cases in CA, TX, and NY (international transportation hub)...but I am curious how it ended up in Ohio

OH well...you gals have a great day!! I'm off to work! I think I'm turned around pretty good now...I feel alert and awake with no prob all day...but come 9pm...i'm ready for bed! hence my lack of DIStime. I didn't get home with Allison last nite til 8:50pm....I managed to change before bed and that's about it

Good Morning Gnomies!! Well it's back to reality!! After the last couple of weeks and some other things going on a good friend of mine handed me the keys to her condo and said go, no laptop, and don't return until Monday...so I did and it was great just to have some me time, which I so desperately needed. BUT I did miss you all!!!

First of all I am definitely keeping my eye on the developing news of the swine flu because one my minor is in epidemiology (infectious diseases I enjoy studying them LOL) and because I'm a school teacher and well its a breeding ground for disease. Just like Paula said we just need to be aware of what the symptoms are and be alert to the fact that if we do get them to report immediately to the doctor. Hopefully this will just be classified as a minor pandemic and nothing more.

I also have to totally agree with you Katie about each of us having our own thing and hopefully appreciating that about each other. Phil has his hunting and fishing and I have Disney...just because they are completely different doesn't invalidate what either of us enjoys to do with our spare time. AND YES I want to see Greece and Italy too!

Well time for me to get ready for work!! I hope you all have a great day and I will talk to you all laters!

Trust me -- I am closely monitoring my health! My back was hurting this morning (probably from sleeping funky) and my first thought was, "Are my kidneys trying to fight off infection???"

Hey All. I am so frustrated about this freaking dress thing that I am ready to pull out my hair. I really want it but it says it's not expected to ship until 5/11, the wedding is 5/16. I can't even pay for express shipping since it's backordered. I even went on ebay to see if I could find on there, no luck. I am so sad.

So I have been searching for another dress...with no luck.

I'm trying to ignore the swine flu. Nothing better mess with my Disney trip, that is all I've got to say.
