Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Hi Jess...thanks for visiting my PTR, but since I 'officially' called and cancelled the trip today....don't expect any updates LOL!!!

I just got an email from my new boss confirming my vacay dates for Sept 26-Oct 3 AND Nov 7-15:woohoo: So that's one stress off my mind!! I'm scheduled to work the weekends at the front end of both trips...but he said they'll be able to work it out:yay: Although that COULD mean I could stay thru the weekend and not leave on Friday in Sept/Oct...hmmmm tempting! I thought my weekends were going to flip to the opposite ones I'm off now:confused3 Apparantly not;)

OK to answer the question...since my WDW planning mood has improved drastically now that I am sure I won't have to cancel any more trips:rolleyes:

Breakfast: buffet at 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian...wonder if I could get a mimosa there:rolleyes1

Lunch: I have been dying to try the chef's lunch at Chef de France...onion soup, french toasted ham an cheese, creme brulee for dessert:flower3: I'll have a nice glass of champagne with that:thumbsup2

Dinner: Le Cellier...BBQ Filet (lordy I miss that...bring it back powers that be!!!) and parmesean mashed potatoes with maybe the chocoloate 'moose' for dessert. I love the maple custard with almond crumble at the F&W festival...too bad THAT's not a dessert option at Le Cellier...YUM!!

Snack: Chocoloate Dipped Rice Crispy treat

Adult Beverage: I'm not sure...I haven't really found a 'must have' ...yet... which leaves me LOTS to try LOL!!!

Paula

Since the French lunch has gotten so many comments here today, maybe we should plan it for a gnomefest ADR. It sounds good to me!

Oh no!! I had completely forgotten that you guys were cancelling your trip! :sad2:Hopefully I didn't bring up any sad thoughts! Maybe that's why I didn't get over to your PTR sooner. Thank goodness for the vacation dates though, that's awesome that they were approved already!! :thumbsup2

Did anyone else read the Coral Reef review?
http://www.disunplugged.com/2009/04/02/the-coral-reef-review/

This disappoints me. I had always wanted to try CR just because it fits Blake and I to a T. He wanted to visit this place in 2007 when we had the DDP but I opted for something else because I was nervous that the reviews were right and that it would be bad and make me sad that I picked a bad restaurant for us. I think that the reviewer is right, CR has such potential.

I can't think about my choices, I have too much to do! :lmao: I look forward to posting them on Sunday.

Jess --- Marc & I enjoyed Coral Reef. The atmosphere alone was worth it, especially if you partake in the dining plan. I say try it, I bet you and Blake would still have a good meal!! :goodvibes

Tomorrow is the big day!!!

Didn't Marc get something he didn't like? I think you had gotten mixed up picking for him or something? I still think the desserts sound/look amazing..I would just really have to read up on the reviews for each entree. Blake and I aren't big lobster fans (we grew up by the Chesapeake Bay) so we both love crabs more! I think we still will give it a whirl the next time we get a chance!

I can't believe tomorrow is the day!!! How exciting! I hope all goes smoothly and that you get internet as quickly as possible! :thumbsup2

That was Kona Cafe. I still feel badly about that. I'll have to find out what we got so I can give you a full review.

Thanks! I'm so tired that I am going to go eat some dessert and watch tv with Marc & my parents.

Hopefully I will be up and chatting tomorrow night! :thumbsup2

I did read it but think you should still try it-- especially since it fits you two so well! ::yes:: For every "bad" review I've also heard really nice things.

Tomorrow is the big day!!!

OMG- tomorrow is the big day! :cheer2: Good luck with everything. Check in as soon as you can! :goodvibes

ETA: Paula! Can't believe I forgot to quote you. Hurrah for having your vacation days confirmed! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

It's 2:55AM and I have been up for at least 30 minutes now. I have the worst stomachache ever. Bah. I feel awful. I think I need some tums or something but I can't find any in my parents house. I don't dare lay down for fear of feeling worse. Booooooooooo.

Morning, Gnomies! Well, we weathered all the storms yesterday, but I had about four hours of sleep last night -- I feel like crud. Thank goodness today is the last day before spring break. We won't even talk about how we are supposed to get another storm system on Sunday. :headache:

LL, hope you feel better and were able to get more sleep!

Sorry you're not feeling well, LL. Could it be anxiety? I get that way sometimes even when anticipating something fun. Hope today goes smoothly, that you feel better quickly and that you have a delicious night of sleep in your new place!

Well I'll start with the positive and say hurrah for spring break! I don't know about these storms. I don't think I would like it vey much. :sad2: Hang in there!!

Thanks, Christine. I am super excited to have some time off. This has been the worst season for storms -- I don't know what is up with the weather -- it's driving me crazy!

:banana:IT's a FANTASTIC FRIDAY..want to know why...because today is the last day before I have an entire week off....YAY for Spring Break!!!:banana:

CP...enjoy your spring break!!

Well I cleaned out the closets and picked up the room that had books all over it. And tomorrow morning I will finish the major cleaning up before my inlaws get here.

OOOH...the french menu is fabulous...makes me so hungry right now thinking about it LOL!!!

LL..It's Moving Day!!! I hope you are having a good day even though you didn't get much rest!!! Let us know how its going!

Hey Ladies---sorry to have been gone so long, but I have been so busy taking care of my Mom from her surgery---which went really smoothly!!! Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes!!! She is doing pretty well recovering as well! I have been so busy, that I haven't had any time to jump on here, or do much else for that matter. I am so tired, but know that I still have a long weekend ahead of me! I probably won't be back on here again regularly until next week---so I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

HAPPY SPRING BREAK!!!

HAVE A GREAT MOVE LL!!!

MM: glad all went well with your Mom!

LL: I hope everything goes smoothly with the big move. I'm anxious to hear how you like your new place

JJ and CP: Have an awesome last day before spring break!

Christine: Cute waiters? You don't say!

Since Julez is in a planning mood, let's get the ball rolling:
I hereby nominate a lunch ADR at Chefs as one of our official gnomefest events. :thumbsup2

What else was a popular choice?

Seems to me almost everyone wanted to do an early morning ADR at Crystal Palace or do the grand gathering breakfast at Tony's. What do people prefer? I see benefits of both. On the one hand, CP would mean getting in before opening...on the other hand, not many of us will have the opportunity to do a GG event which would be smaller and perhaps more special. I'm really torn personally so I will go with what the group decides.

Any other nominations for official events? How many are we going to try for? I don't think we should overplan but 1 or 2 each day is good if we add in things like Paula's gamenight and the photo scavenger hunt at Epcot (although how fun of a day would it be to to plan on going Soarin' at rope drop together, lunch at Chef's, have a WS scavenger hunt in the afternoon and finish with gamenight. If Paula chooses Beach Club, I would definitely vote for a late dinner at B&C...cheeseburgers, onion rings and a No Way Jose - OK, now I'm hungry)

Boy, it sure is a quiet day around here without LL! :lmao:

I'm having another one of those boring days at work. I told Greg this morning I only had about 2 hours of work to do today, sure enough...around 11 I ran out of projects and I have just been putzing around for the last 2+ hours and still have more to go :sad2: I never imagined I would wish for a job with more responsibilities so I didn't get so bored.

OK...I know that Christine wants to add DVC...and LL and Jen are seriously thinking down the road...and a couple others are dreaming too:goodvibes

OK I found this on the DVC boards today.... in case you need financial justification for your decision!! It's amazing that someone was this patient and mathematically astute!

Spreadsheet Fun

Paula.... vying for the title of enabling queen of the day:lmao:

I was thinking the exact same thing today! :rotfl:
Sorry about your boring day Katie! Mine are like that too. My gels take about 7 hours to complete, so if I don't get them started in time, then I have to wait until the next day. Today, I reached my part-time job quota at noon and then gave up and went home cause there was nothing else to do! God help me when I get a "real" job and actually have to stay there the whole day!

Spreadsheet Fun

Paula.... vying for the title of enabling queen of the day:lmao:
Holy crap that is one heck of a spreadsheet! :worship:I give you credit on the enabling P for others, but if you were putting up something that I could actually afford at the moment, then you would be competing head to head with LL in the enabling department for me :thumbsup2

Hi Jen! So glad all went well with your mom's surgery. She's blessed to have a daughter like you! :goodvibes

I'll also go with whatever the group decides. If it were just me I'd put Tony's slightly ahead of Crystal Palace but only b/c I have such fond childhood memories of having breakfast on the "Tony's" porch and flying out of my chair and off the deck whenever I saw characters.

Good Evening Gnomies.

I am so exhausted. I barely slept last night, I really think it was anxiety. It was awful. Today was the day of hurry up and wait. The cat transporting wasn't the best. Ruby was literally foaming at the mouth towards the end of the ride. I think she worked herself up so much and she was licking herself like crazy. It was bad. I felt like the Worlds Worst Mumma as that is how I refer to myself. LOL. Anyhoo! I get to the new apartment and put the cats in the bathroom with their food, water and litter box. When the movers were finally done I had to coax Ruby out. Then she hid for about 4 hours. Poor baby. Sully is doing okay but I think he was in the confined space with Ruby for too long because anytime she comes nears he growls at her.

The new apartment is AWESOME. Truly it is. Way bigger than our old place. We have unpacked a fair amount but everything is kind willy nilly all over the place. Marc let me take a nap for about an hour and I love him for it but he went unpacking crazy and just kinda threw stuff everywhere so now I am kinda organizing it. I adore our balcony and sliding glass door in the living room. We have a tree right in front of it too so when it fills out this summer we will have some nice shade and a bit more privacy. Pictures will hopefully be up tomorrow night or Sunday.

Thanks for all the well wishes, I thought of you many times today and how I wished I could have enticed you all with some champagne to come help me unpack! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
