Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

I'm here. I can't think, my brain is on overload. My vote depends on what dates I book and I don't know yet. :confused3

this is sorta my problem too... with the new job, I'm not sure how that will affect my dates.

Can we plan for the weekend??? I think that everyone is expecting to overlap the weekend regardless....

if so how about Saturday?? on Soarin...with no FPs we will have lots of time to chat!!:lmao:

NO FASTPASSES...okay LL couldn't computer no ADRs I can't compute no FPs LOL :rotfl:

hmmmm.... Saturday... yes.... No FP's? Yes, my brain is also stumbling over that one. But P has a very good point about us having a LOT of time to chat whilst being in line!

WOOO HOOO! It's Wednesday! It's 5 o'clock!! I don't have to work tommorow! WOO-HOOO!!

I agree, it's a little hard to say what I think is best until people know what days they will be there, what the park hours are, when the shows are scheduled, etc. I know that seems like a long time before we can begin planning our events but at the same time, I just hate to...for example...give up my only chance at Fantasmic or Wishes to have drinks in Epcot which will be an option every night.

I know for me, I hope to be there Thurs-Tues at a minimum, but hope to add another day on either end (possibly 2 depending on what I have for personal days)

Do we have a tentative head count? I have lost track of how many "extras" are coming along. For me, I wouldn't mind bringing Patrick but it is more likely that I will be solo.

Perhaps we should make our list of "must-do's" as a group then arrange them as appropriate when we have more info about peoples travel plans, hours and such.

Hey girls! Tomorrow is thursday, thank god the week is almost over!
So, a little rant coming up here...

The future family in law is driving me nuts again. Blake has yet to file his taxes and I was thinking, hey, he just got busy for a while there, but now we're 14 days out and come to find, I figure out the problem about why it hasn't been done. FMIL (Future mother in law) just now got around to sending his W-2 forms to him TODAY and in addition, just sent his whole stack of mail of course they never open anything, and he finds out he's late on his health insurance payment. I mean COME ON! Blake will already be out of a job from April 1-June 1st because his NASA job is technically considered an Internship and it skips from the Spring to the Summer, but he won't actually get paid until the end of June.

So, being the good gf that I am, I had an interview at Panera Bread today to see if they would hire me from now until July to kind of ease the stress of bill paying since only 1 of us will be having money coming in. Now granted, he did just get his last check, but our rent (almost $1100 divided 2 ways between us) and with car insurance etc AND the fact that NASA doesn't take any taxes out of their employees checks, they are considered "self employed" which means he will be paying a crap load for his taxes when he turns them in. So, Jess is going out for job #3 because Blake had a bad anxiety attack last summer (forcing him to not be able to go to the Bahamas with me for school) and I don't want him like that again.

Blake and I, believe it or not have never spent the summer together since we started dating. I guess it has always been kinda the "summer break" from college so we have just always went to our respected homes. I don't know, I think FMIL blames me some for last year's anxiety and I told her the whole issue about me trying to get another job to help him with that, but I feel like it's not good enough for her, yet I just don't understand why she can do it herself with sending his bills and taxes late. :confused3

Oy..sorry guys..rant over :thumbsup2

P.S. I agree though about Gnomefest, I have no idea when/if our dates will be, so I can't say anything definite. But I love the idea you have Julez! Attraction, Illuminations and nighttime ADR! The problem then would be..which one... ;)

Julez, since I will still be in school, I will only be able to come for a long weekend -- if we are doing a big meet, I am voting for a Friday or Saturday.

Jess, sorry about all that stress with BF and FMIL -- she sounds like a piece of work. :headache:

Katie, I completely agree with you! It's good to have some ideas but I think it's going to be hard to actually commit them a certain day until we know park hours, shows, etc. :thumbsup2

CP, it warms my heart that you are still planning to go to Gnomefest! :thumbsup2

Jess....URGH to your FMIL. I feel your pain, I totally do. Everything will work out. We are here anytime you need to vent!

Of course I am, LL! :goodvibes

Morning, Gnomies. I was awakened at 3:00 by a thunderstorm that kept me awake until about 3:30 -- broken sleep does not sit well with me. It's going to be a long, long, long day.

Hi ladies,

Just popping in quickly. Work has been awful this week! :headache:

Jess - the inlaw drama does not sound fun. Hugs.

CP- I hate broken sleep and some of it myself last night. Ugh. :headache: And I'm also thrilled you're still planning on gnomefest!

Speaking of which, look at you Julez, in planning mode! :upsidedow I am also dying to start planning but am in the same spot as some others in that I don't know my dates yet. But I am going! ::yes:: Maybe Katie's suggestion of gathering must-do's would be helpful?

Hope you all have a great day! Hopefully I can DIS more this weekend.

And speaking of this weekend... LL- GOOD LUCK WITH THE MOVE!!!! :goodvibes

Good Morning Gnomies. I slept better last night than I have all week BUT it wasn't long enough. I feel so scatter brained and that was confirmed by Sallie Mae who called last night, I totally forgot to pay my Student Loan at the beginning of the month. The sad thing is on my budget worksheet, I have it checked off as paid. :headache: I sat on the phone and argued with the guy and then I went through my checkbook and sure enough, no March Sallie Mae payment. Geez Louise! I felt like such an idiot last night. I really can't wait until the moving is over!

Morning girls!

Yikes LL, that stinks :headache:

Sorry things are a little rough at work this week Christine

CP, hang in there!

So I have to share the bizzare dream I had last night. Greg had a girlfriend...I was OK with that. He bought her a ring...I was a little less OK with that. A week later, he bought her a second ring...I was a bit upset about that. Then I asked him how much the rings cost and he told me the first was $9000 and the second was $14,000...that's when I got pissed :rotfl2:

Good Morning Gnomies,
Is it Friday yet LOL!!!!!

Christine....hugs:hug: I hope your week ends better than it started. I can't wait to catch up with you soon!!!

Jess...ewww to inlaw drama I'm sorry you are having to deal with that!!

Katie...funny dream that totally cracked me up...:rotfl:

CP...one more day of bad weather...it's supposed to end tomorrow YAY!!!

Good Morning Jen!

CP, I have been meaning to recommend the book I just finished to you. The Lady Elizabeth by Alison Weir. SO GOOD. Alison Weir has written several biographies and The Lady Elizabeth is her second fiction book. It was so detailed and so very good. It covers Elizabeth's life from when she was 3 until she becomes Queen. Anyhoo! Very good! I'm reading her other fiction book An Innocent Traitor right now.

Man LL, I can never keep up with what book you are currently on! I read fast, but it takes me a while to find a new book.

Katie-Too funny about that dream!

Blake felt bad last night about getting upset with all the drama yesterday, so after his class, he came back with "Think Fast" the Disney version for Wii that he bought pre-purchased from Blockbuster for me!! It's basically ALL Disney Trivia! We played trivia in the Savannah last night with Simba, Under the Sea with Ariel and on the Beach with Lilo and Stitch! And the coolest thing is that you can pick your own Disney character to play and the "person" reading the questions sounds just like the "Bus Voice" from the WDW Buses!! We totally got our Disney fix last night. :wizard:I told Blake I wasn't upset with him, so it wasn't necessary for his "apologee" gift, but he scored some major points :lovestruc

Awww!! That sounds like so much fun!! A Wii is on our future purchase list and now I really, really want one! :rotfl2:

My mom had bought it for me for Christmas, I had never really thought about one and didn't ask for it. But she had a good point, it was good "free" entertainment since you can bowl, go to the batting cages, putt-putt, etc for things that require money. I still have Nintendo and Sega, but I love the Wii. I especially like the Mario Games (for old times sake) but we love it! :thumbsup2

We have an Xbox 360 and we just don't play it a lot. I want the Wii for the fact that I can get up and move with some of the games. I really want the Dancing with the Stars one! :lmao: We are going to try to see the Xbox and put that money towards a Wii. :thumbsup2

Oh gosh, I'm looking at the radar now! We're supposed to go to the National Cherry Blossom Festival on a free school trip tomorrow in D.C., but they're calling for thunderstorms all day. As I glanced down south, I saw all the nastiness in Florida and Georgia! Hang on CP and Jen, hope the storms don't get too rough! :headache:

Good idea LL!! I got so spacey yesterday (I'm not sure if it's allergy season coming or the yucky weather or what), but I needed something to sit down and read..so I re-read your Jolly Holiday TR again, and of course I got the song stuck in my head for the rest of the day :rotfl:

The food porn pics really got me thinking about which ADR's we're going to choose as a group ;)
