Looks like its gonna be a little busier now with IRMA wrecking havoc on the east coast

Honestly I don't think so... I really don't think a good amount of people are ready to make the switch to DL... or those that think they are ready will choke when they see on-site hotel prices and then have a quandary about off-site vs on-site... Is WDW refunding park tickets? Doubtful, especially if pre-bought thru a 3rd party to save money. So they'd need DL tickets instead... Yeah, I'm just not buying it.

Most tourists to WDW stay onsite and their hotel and tickets are purchased as part of a package, especially since this time of year includes food for free. WDW has a hurricane cancellation policy and is pretty inclusive and includes hotels, party tickets, theme park tickets, etc... That are able to be canceled or rescheduled.

DLH and GCH may be out of reach if you want to trade equal DVC points from a Florida resort, but PP is definitely in range.

Many airlines are letting people re-direct their flights for free or a low fee.
If you live somewhere in the middle of the US, I can totally see you getting a new flight and going to DL instead, especially if you took the time off work and get most of your trip refunded.

Not to mention the 3 cruises that have been cancelled and are getting fully refunded.

I don't think there will be a huge amount of people, but I can see a small bump in attendance for sure.

i just looked at extending stay by a night at Disneyland to the 12th in case of flight cancellations and gch is completely booked. So tons of more people going and they're closing grr. Honestly I may see if I can cancel and stay in my fabulous Huntington Beach hotel for those days.

The Disneyland website doesn't have it listed on refurb after today, I dont know how much that's worth.

Central California Schools are closing due to wildfires. More schools may be closing next week as these fires spread. Guess they mine-as-well all come to Disneyland and enjoy black hole week.

Remember last February during "off season" when crowd levels were supposed to be a 2 or 3 out of 10 but they ended up being a 9 out of 10?

Yeah, I think we are going to hit the perfect storm again. All these events are going to add up: West coast cruises in and out of port + 3 East coast Disney cruise and WDW cancellations + very short hours and early DCA closing + holiday refurbishments + regular refurbishments + unexpected refurbishments + Cali school fire closings + sold out hotels during a week that they are usually never sold out + temps finally cooling down from weeks of extremely hot weather.

I am getting prepared for an unusually busy week. I will be surprised if Disneyland isn't very busy. But I can still hope...

I'm still optimistic! It's still less refurbs than our last trip, I just wish DL would extend the hours to accommodate the crowds. Even when we went to LegoLand in FL last year, they stayed open an hour later because it was busier than they had expected that day. I think some of the GC rooms may not be available because of renovations.

I was there today and CMs were saying "hopefully tomorrow; it's supposed to be open by Saturday for sure unless something else comes up."

There were workers on the tracks right by the loading area.

Disneyland was pretty deserted today.

Wouldn't be surprised if they take that theater over for a Coco preview. I know they are going to do some other Coco stuff in the park in prep for the movie coming out in November and to coordinate with Halloween time and Day of the Dead.

I checked that and disney's official blog said that the theater would be used for coco starting Nov 5th? I hope they wouldn't close it for that long before without having it on the "refurbishment" list.

I personally have found the app to be glitchy lately saying things are closed when they aren't, or listing really off wait times. Hopefully someone who has gone to ITTBAB lately can chime in to say it's open. I'm not sure when you are going, but I am planning on going later this week and I was thinking of going to the show since we missed it last time so I'll check it out for you.
