No value or moderate resorts available?

So I was trying to book a trip for mid December, and there’s no moderate or value hotels available.

I hope they notice this and they’ll be opening hopefully Port Orleans for bookings soon? I have my fingers crossed!

I can see lots of availability for 4 people Dec 12-18. The booking algorithm on Disney's site can be tricky, if you play around with dates you should be able to find something (if your dates are flexible).

I think it won't necessarily hinge entirely on resort demand for December but rather on whether guest demand will continue thru the following months. I don't think they will recall staff if they don't think people will continue to come after the most popular month is over.

If they do open, it will be for the long term. And I'm all in favor of that because it means that Disney is more optimistic about the future.

We’re actually going the week before and unfortunately no flexibility on dates. I’m planning for 12 people and this was the time we could all go and get off work, etc etc.

If it was me and my parents alone, we would do that. But I have a lot of older folks in the party who would not like the idea of having to move resorts. Lol.

Totally understand One other thought, have you looked at Priceline or Hotwire?

Earlier today both CSR and CBR had availability. We may go the same time. The site has been a bit strange so keep trying.

That is strange, I see nothing here. And it’s even more weird, I split the week in half, and POP was available for both halves, but not together?? So weird.

We were having the same issue for June, I have been checking daily and ASM and Coronado keep showing up.. but when you search on Expedia I find many more. I still think we are going off site especially because as of now I cant get any res. except HS and Epcot.

Availability at rack rate may open up if/when a discount is released. Personally, I would never book Deluxe at full price. So I will sometimes reserve Value or Moderate just to make sure that I have a reservation during a popular time of year. If discounts come out, then I book Deluxe and cancel what I have. Sometimes I get lucky and sometimes I don’t. In 2019, I changed a full FQ stay at Thanksgiving to a split WL/AKL/FQ (Opening a bunch of FQ days up for someone else). But in 2018, I ended up keeping FQ. So you never know. I’d keep checking now and especially if a discount comes out.

Is it possible that the search doesn't work well with so many people? I can see for those dates when I put 12 people nothing comes up, but there are tons of options when I put 4 people. Maybe you need to get your pricing based on that, and then call and they can book you the 3 rooms or whatever you need over the phone.

I just booked Pop Century for The week of Dec 13th last week but then switched to Caribbean Beach yesterday.... Interesting. I am also hoping they open up Port Orleans Riverside by then so I can switch to that,

June is booked solid on the Cash and DVC side.

I don’t search by 12 people I only search by two usually.

I used to be a Disney travel agent, so I’ve learned not to search by that large of a party.

Yesterday I noticed that if I was signed in when I was looking at mid Dec dates, it wasn't showing rates but if I searched logged off.. they all then displayed. No issue booking then

They might be able to join them to make one reservation if you call and it’s the same room category.

Ah ok, I used to be a travel agent as well (not Disney though) and I know those are the types of things to trip up the reservation system

I tried again Dec 4-11 and Dec 5-12 and they both have availability at some value and moderates, so hopefully it was just a glitch for you and you can get what you want booked!
