What's up with this? It's been about a week, week and a half since I've seen one - they all start with Albequerque. What do you think is happening?

Personally I think SWA know they have it good here...now with no Independence Air...who do they have to compete with...I am looking at flights out of Boston, Jfk, ISP, and Stewart.

Saw one a short time ago, but it was to someplace I have no plans on ever going to.

I booked thru DING on 1/25 going ALB to MCO on May 4 returning on May 10. Paid $44 on way and $49 the other total cost was $110.....tow of us flying for $220 and the best I could do out of SYR for same dates was $238 PER PERSON>>>...so I will drive to ALB pay for gas and to park and still be about $175 ahead of the game...

SO there have been DINGS for ALB to MCO just not the last few days. Hang in there...

I am a frequent Albany flyer and have definitely noticed no dings out of Albany as of late. I agree that with Independence air out of there we may be at a disadvantage. I did book a ding fare from ALB to MCO for May not too long ago, so I am remaining optimisitic at this point.

Yes,I fly out of Albany,NY also and have found all of the Dings I have gotten do not have low fares on my dates.Which are the beginning of April.I was quite suprised to see Southwest's advertisement for $44 to $49 one-way EVERYDAY thru June 9th and find they don't offer what they advertise....
My dates were $44 one-way (and that was the late afternoon flight that arrives at 9:50pm) and the way back was $166 pp one-way....So where's the
Ding fare that they advertise???
Mmmm.

Ive noticed no ALB too! Also no Hartford either! :sad2:

They just had a DING a short time ago - $44 to Orlando.. I don't think they're doing away with them - they just don't offer them every single day.. :confused3

Just MHO:
1. Yes they offer DING fares everyday, but if you are not quick to book the most poular dates, they may be sold out. How do you expect SWA to stay in business if EVERY SEAT on the plane was a DING fare? (debden)
2. Boston and JFK???? Can you say crazy? :lmao: Last time SWF had a low fare, it was just a typo. :rotfl2: (I guess if you consider Allegiant to Sanford, SWF might be worth looking at - Just remember all the "low fare carriers" that have come and gone to SWF in the past years. Don't book too far in advance!) (canwegosoon)
3. With Independence out of ALB, Southwest can cut back on DINGS and raise fares slightly. (msblrobs)
4. Have seen ALB-BWI for $24 a number of times. Keep watching DVC-Don! :thumbsup2
5. Just back from Jan trip to BWV! Only went because the DING fare was $34 ALB-MCO nonstop! They offer low DINGS - you just have to be available to go on the days the low DINGS are not already sold out! (C. Ann) :Pinkbounc
:cool1: I LUV ALB and SWA!! :cool1:

I booked my ding to Orlando from Albany for May on Feb 1st and the next morning they came out with it again, and just for good luck, once more on the 3rd in the am, when I helped another person book it. $44 plus tax or whatever that charge is, each way. I imagine those three days in a row filled a lot of seats.

It's not every day, but through a certain date. Once they fill their quota, the cheap fairs drop off..or if they have sold a certain amount of seats, they don't offer them on that day.

Quote from DMRick:It's not every day, but through a certain date

Southwest's advertisement states:Valid Everyday thru June 9th...
Now that's obviously not true. owtrbanks,I don't expect Southwest to offer every seat as a 'Ding' but they should not 'advertise' it that way. It's misleading.Seriously when I first signed up for Ding and I got the message about Albany to MCO $44 to $49 one-way-valid everyday thru June 9th:I thought they actually meant valid 'Everyday' thru June 9th.It's not. That's just the way I'm looking at it.It being right or wrong......

DMRick,Yes,but they advertise it that way.Like I said.To me it's just mis-leading or I'm just reading more into it...

I'm not trying to make a full-blown issue out of it. I love Southwest! I take them any chance I get.
I already have my tickets for $228 RT.Not the great fare I had hoped for (I'm spoiled for the $115 fares..) but still reasonably good.

Orlando to Albany for $68-$78 One-Way!
- Fare is valid for travel everyday, February 14 through March 31, 2006 only

Speed :teleport:

debden - I understand your gripe, but it would be very labor intensive to list the remaining dates that DING fares were available on a real time basis. Much easier for SWA to have the customer input dates to see what's still available.
I know what you mean . . . after paying $115 R/T it's so hard to book the $73 or $99 O/W fares. I just remind myself that in the early 80's we were fortunate to get $79 sale fares on Eastern Airlines, so I guess $99 now is pretty good. :confused3
See y'all at ALB and WDW!!! :cool1:
