Usually by this time I'm earning a free turkey or money off a turkey from any of the big supermarket chains. I have seen nothing yet....what gives?

It must be something about the area you're in? There are several free turkey offers going on around me. My mother lives across the state, with an entirely different array of markets, and she already picked up her free turkey. So, the offers are out there.

Our grocery stores is doing the free turkeys this year. I am not sure about your area.

Shoprite is doing it near us.

Meijers is doing "spend 20$ get a turkey 50% off" deal

There's only one deal for free turkey here this year, but they've raised the amount you have to spend so high that it's not even worth it to try, for me anyway. It would be doable if I only shopped in that store, but it's a better deal for me to shop the best prices in other stores and just buy the turkey outright.

No free turkey so far, but Big Y was handing out coupons for $7 off when you spent $X.

I have to say I've never really paid attention to those deals before but I don't remember them being very common around here. DH's company is very traditional and still hands out a turkey to all the employees the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. this is the first year we won't get one in 10 years because DH is out on Workman's comp for the rest of the month (yup, out for 4-6 weeks just in time for the holidays :sad2: )

Other than the Meijers sale, we haven't had any free turkey deals for years.

Shop rite here in NJ has the points towards the free turkey like it usually does. We usually opt for the ham instead though because we're not big turkey fans

Acme has a coupon in the circular for a free turkey w/ one time $100+ purchase.

Me either.

Raley's Bel Air (local chain) has them in today's flyer for 50 cents a pound. Safeway has them for 99 cents a pound.

We tend to pick up our Thanksgiving stuff a little bit at a time in the 2 months prior. And since we switched the majority of our grocery shopping to Walmart, we rarely buy $100 of groceries anymore.

One if the local grocery stores here have a promotion for a free turkey but you have to spend $300 to get it. Not a great deal

$400 here from Shoprite but they have the promotion going for six weeks. Used to be $300

The only deal here in southwest Michigan is the Meijers one spend$20 get 50% off a turkey.

The same for me.

They do not have turkey promotions where I live. No free turkey, no "point" towards a turkey, etc. Never have since I moved here 14 years ago. However, my sister and mother on East Coast has already gotten her free turkey and working towards another to keep in freezer.

I just qualified for my free turkey at Shoprite. I had to spend 400.00 over a period of time. In past years it was 300.00.

our Shoprites here in Maryland have limit set at $250 still, it is up to the individual owners what level they want to set it at
