No Standard view, accessible BLT studios

Aren't Lake View rooms inside the "C" and Standard View room outside the "C"? If so, there is no way to easily "switch" a lake view for standard view. If those "Almost MK" standard view room warranted the points, they'd be in that category. Apparently they are Standard View for a reason. If they were a good MK view, they would charge more points, AND that would give DVC more points at the resort to sell.

My Mom used a W/C in the parks, and we occasionally got an accessible room, so I do understand the OPs frustration, but I don't think there is an "easy fix." And the ADA requirements may not apply to timeshares, as they are not actually "public accomodations," but are technically owned by the members.

Check out Work2play's great compilation of views per unit.

For instance 5th floor, unit 04 outside is SV while 02 is LV. But floor 6 unit 04 is LV. Also on the 5th floor, Unit 14 is SV, but 16 is MK view. BLT is a curved plan so there is no true "hard" cutoff line on a view..

I think Jim Lewis and DVD blew it again if what is being said here is true that there are in fact no accessible rooms in standard or MK view category at BLT. Here is the ADA requirement applicable to places of temporary lodging which includes timeshares:

"In order to provide persons with disabilities a range of options equivalent to those available to other persons served by the facility, sleeping rooms and suites required to be accessible shall be dispersed among the various classes of sleeping accommodations available to patrons of the place of transient lodging. Factors to be considered include room size, cost, amenities provided, and the number of beds provided." ADA Standard 9.1.4.

Guidelines provide that if the facility does not have accessible rooms in each available category of room as required by the standard, the facility's option, in order for it to be deemed not in violation of the standard, is to provide a higher category accessible room to the guest at the price of the lower category room for which there are no accessible rooms.

In other words lack of any standard view and MK view accessible rooms at BLT is likely a violation of the ADA, and not offering those who want standard view the option of lake view at standard view cost confirms the illegality.

Thank you, I still haven't heard back from Members Satisfaction Team but I have plenty to respond with, from these threads, when they do.
