No slide??

The BC & BW Villas pools haven’t got slides. They’re basically deluxe resort quiet pools. And did the GF Villas even get a pool? Not sure what’s surprising.
BW Villas was not an additional building was it? Or was it? GF is a good point. But BCV is patrolled by CMs and that there takes care of the problem of pool hoppers and such. This new Poly tower looks absolutely huge. The Volcano pool will most likely a hit and a half with guest who like a water slide at thier pool.

I’m not positive about the number of rooms, but from what I found, the new tower has 268 rooms. BC Villas has 282. BW Villas has 383. So the new Poly tower is smaller than both of those resorts which have no pool slide.

The inn and Villas were built at the same time.

Beach club’s pool requires wristbands and VGFs does not (I’m pretty sure we didn’t even need to scan our magic band to get in). I’m not sure if that is the norm, but I do wonder if Poly and VGF get some amount of pool hoppers because they are so close to magic kingdom and mass transportation.
VGF and PVB both have magic band gates but the VGF one never seems to work while the PVB one seems to work too well as we were constantly locked out lol. We had to keep going to the great ceremonial house to get our bands reactivated

Add the 268 from PIT to the existing PVB room count of 380 plus the cash side of the resort and I think they should have added a slide as the feature pool at PVB will now be even more crowded.

BLT has 281 units and received a slide.

That pool will be slammed!

The BC pool compares to no other pool at Disney. Its like 3 acres? Plus, it is guarded for pool hoppers. They should do the same at the Volcano pool now.

Oh I agree, all the feature pools, especially at the monorail resorts, should have wrist bands or some kind of check to make sure only resort guests access them.

Except those existing PVB rooms were existing rooms, accounted for in the original room count when the resort was designed. They didn’t add more guests to the total.

They do if your sharing one pool with a slide for the entire resort I would think and they classify PIT as part of the Poly.

My point was.. those guests were already included in the totals when the resort was first built, since those rooms were taken from the original hotel. The only new rooms, thus additional guest counts, are in the tower.

Two comments about Poly:

1) About 15% of the Island Tower rooms are duo studios. I think it's reasonable to assume those 2-person rooms tend to skew toward singles and adult couples.

2) I can certainly see the new Island Tower pool appealing to families with younger kids. Yes, there is also a kids play area at the Volcano pool. But if you don't have use specifically for the slide, other aspects can be found elsewhere.

It's probably inaccurate to paint a picture along the lines of "OMG that's 250 more families who will all be at the Volcano pool!" Not everyone uses pools, certainly not on the same times and days. Not everyone values access to a slide. People who previously would have gone to the Volcano and Oasis pools will soon have a third option.

I will admit we will head to CCs for some Tonga Toast each trip. I think Poly is now a resort that I would have to stay at, try out before I would ever consider buying there because of it being a resort that has an "attraction" status.
It’s is just that- attraction status. Can’t say that I blame everyone, it’s amazing. But to use such high points to stay there, or pay mega bucks to stay there, it definitely takes away from the experience to be so crowded. That’s why you book deluxes, to have somewhere nice to come back to after the parks, to have alternative transportation, etc. When the monorail stations/ monorails are more crowded or same as buses, why not save the money and points and stay elsewhere? It’s kind of where we are now

Yes that is true but now with all of the new rooms they will be sharing the one slide with them.

Yes I will concede that not everyone will use a slide or even the pool but since they were building this from the ground up I think they could have added the slide.
