No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems: A Tremendously Tropical PTR

Love your FE gifts!! What a gorgeous idea!! I guess I'll be helping Anita make a few of those!!! Just adorable!!!

Speaking of Anita, Rajah is gorgeous! Love that cat!! Poor thing all wrapped up, but soon they will be off and all will be well!!!!!!

Rajah is such a pretty kitty!! Those bandages though make me so sad, poor thing!

Isn't she beautiful! :cutie:

Thanks! There are TONS of really neat ideas on that thread if you are doing a FE anytime soon. Very affordable stuff too and most of the ideas are really simple.

Rajah is a georgous kitty. I want one now. Like Rinky said when I had our two kitties declawed years ago they did not bandage them either, I do remember having to not use litter instead having to use torn up newspaper for a time after their surgury.
How is it working out with keeping the bandages on?

Well I am finally getting to day four of our time at Disney World! Sorry about the delay but October is a super busy month and I just haven't had the time to get things together. In fact, I'm starting to panic a little because I still have so much to do to get ready for this trip with less than 3 weeks to go.

We did check one more thing off our list today though... we all got flu shots. We do that every year that we travel in the fall, and I thought it was especially important this year since we are going on a cruise. My neighbors went to Disney two years ago and two of the four of them ended up getting sick and it pretty much ruined their vacation. I do NOT want that to happen to us. DD was really dreading the shot, but she was so brave and didn't cry at all!

Speaking of DD... I have to share this with you. I walked into the kitchen the other day and found her 'itinerary' on a clipboard, stuck to the fridge! She told me that she had written down some things that we could do on the cruise. This totally cracked me up! I think my overplanning is creating a monster. :rolleyes1

I wonder what we are doing with the 'flaminggos' at 10:00! :rotfl:

Memom, I think you have started a 'mingo' revolution here on the DIS! :lmao:

Now onto day four....

We will be spending a second and final day at MK! I really want to make rope drop, as we have never done that before, but the problem is we have an appointment at the BBB at 9:00. MK also opens at 9:00. So I have been calling a few times a week trying to change my ressie to later in the morning. I really hate to be sitting in the BBB during prime riding time, but there are no appointments left at this point. I waited too long to make my ressie there because I kept going back and forth on weather or not to even do it. I finally decided that I better go ahead and book it since DD is getting older and she may not want to do it anymore by the time we go back. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions or advice for me on how to fix this I would love to hear it. I just can't figure out how to be at BBB, the opening ceremony/rope drop, and doing rides all at the same time.

The last time DD went to the BBB she was four years old. She really enjoyed it and it was something she talked about for a long time.

It was so much fun for her! This time she wants the 'Diva' hairdo with the long fake hair. I like the princess hairstyle that she got last time much better, but I'm going to let it be her choice. She is going to wear the Rapunzel 'nightgown' costume that I showed you earlier so the long hair will go with that.

After the makeover, I'm going to get her picture taken at the studio behind the castle, and then we are going to try to meet Rapunzel.

DD has her heart set on this. I read that the line is not as bad now as it was when the meet first opened, and I am hoping this is true. Do any of you have an inside scoop on this subject?

After our meet & greet we are going to hit all the rides we possibly can before 2:00. I have the Wonderland Tea Party booked at the Grand Floridian and that runs from 2:00-3:00. DD is SUPER excited about this. She thinks it is really cool that she is going to have a real tea party with the characters.

DD picked out this costume to wear to the party. She said it was a 'funky Alice'! It is a little funky but it's cute on her. She liked it because it has the Cheshire Cat on it and he is our favorite AiWL character. :ccat: You know we have a thing for cats around here.

Once the party is over, we will head back to MK. I have a 5:30 ressie for Liberty Tree Tavern.

However, I am seriously thinking about cancelling it. I just don't think we will be able to get everything done that we want to do with so many interruptions in our day (BBB, Tea Party, Rapunzel M&G). I think stopping for a sit down dinner in addition to the other things will just eat up the whole day. What do you think? I'm thinking we should just stick to CS meals that day.

We plan to end the day watching the Electrical Parade, which is new to us.

I think it will be fun to see a new evening parade. We do plan to skip Wishes though and use that time to hit all the rides we can while everyone else is on Main St. We will be seeing Wishes on another night though. I absolutely love that show so there's no way I can miss it altogether!

So that pretty much wraps up the day. It's going to be a very long and tiring one for sure, but hopefully a very magical day that's totally worth the exhaustion! :wizard:

Up next... Hollywood Studios

I love your plans!! It really makes me want to plan my trip...that is more than a year away.....

I love the funky Alice dress, very very cute!

I have no advice about BBB, sorry!

I think you should cancel LTT, you have a busy day and grabbing dinner on the fly might be easier than a sit down meal you are tied too. :thumbsup2

Rinky, I think you have an amazing day planned!

I cannot wait to hear how the flaminggo visit goes. :lmao: lol!!! I love your daughter's Alice costume. So neat! I also would probably eat CS that day. The tea will take up a chunk of time so I think CS would be the best bet to not spend too much time eating. Great idea making sure you all have the flu vaccine. I got sick on our very first WDW trip and it really put a damper on our vacation.

Seriously cute costume! I love Alice characters too!!! You do have a very full day planned, I'm not sure I'd cancel a thing. Just see how it goes....

I think your plans for MK day sound like a lot of fun for DD. Her "funky alice costume" is adorable. I think I might cancel the ressie at LTT and opt for CS since DD might not be hungry so soon after the tea party? or Maybe keep it , you can always stop by the day of and cancel it,that way you will have the option just in case ya know?

Anita, your cat is cute!! I know he's ready for those bandages to come off.

Cute Alice costume!
I love your FE's, they are very cute. There are so many great ideas over on that thread. FE's are fun, we loved coming back to the room and seeing what was in the pockets. Have a great time on your cruise and at WDW.

I am such a huge Alice fan -- I love DD's costume!!! Adorable!

I hope you love the Main Street Electrical Parade as much as I do! :lovestruc

It's NEVER too early to start planning! Besides, you better do it now before the baby comes, because you might not have the time after he arrives (yes, I said he b/c I think its a boy! ;) ).

I think I'm going to hold onto LTT for the moment, but I am almost certain that I will cancel it at some point.

What is up with the flaminggos? I mean are we feeding them, taking pictures of them... I just don't know what she has in mind for that! :upsidedow

Getting sick on vacation is the worst! You pay so much money and have such high hopes and then it gets ruined. I got really sick on one of our beach trips two years ago and ended up in the hospital. It was awful. I felt so bad that I had ruined the trip for the rest of the family. My main prayer for vacation is always that God will keep us safe and healthy!

Seriously cute costume! I love Alice characters too!!! You do have a very full day planned, I'm not sure I'd cancel a thing. Just see how it goes....

The Alice characters are so fun! I like them all, even the Red Queen. In fact, DH and I thought about dressing to match DD that day. I was going to wear a Queen of Hearts t-shirt and crown and he was going to wear a Mad Hatter t-shirt and hat! :rotfl: I just haven't had time to get it all together though!

I think you're right on LTT. I'm going to hold onto it for now and cancel later if I need to.

Thanks! I thought the costume was pretty cute. It's different anyway, and DD likes to have something a little different from everyone else. This day of the trip is kind of her day anyway. She has been saving her money up for the tea party so she is very excited to finally be going.

I'm holding onto LTT for now, but will probably cancel it later. It depends on how much we get done on our first MK day I guess.

Anita, your cat is cute!! I know he's ready for those bandages to come off.

That cat is gorgeous! Her markings are so unique!

That is a great thread! People are so creative! I a really good at copying someone else's ideas and even making them a little better sometimes, but I am terrible at coming up with ideas on my own.

I hope we enjoy the FEs as much as you did. I'm sure we will. I hope we get lots of homemade goodies!

I am such a huge Alice fan -- I love DD's costume!!! Adorable!

Thanks! We love Alice too. And ya know, the whole Alice story is a little funky, so I think the costume works.

I know you love that parade. Every time I see pictures of it, I think about you! I'm sure I will be thinking about you while we are watching it too, so know that you will be there in spirit on Nov. 2nd. :)

The costume is very cute! It will go great with her Diva hair! I too prefer the princess look, but if she likes it that is all that matters right? Agree though, you have to get the BBB stuff in before she outgrows it. Although my friend Jenna wanted to do it when we went last year and she is 24, so you never know! I can't believe you leave in 2.5 weeks!

I think it is a boy too. It's just this feeling I have. I think I'm going to do a poll on my PTR to see what people think. A little more than two weeks and we find out!!:banana::banana:

Looks like a fabulous day! :goodvibes You are going ot have the best vacation ever!!!

I would probably cancel the ADR and grab something quick from a CS for dinner. I hate being rushed all day.

DS10 and I watched the MSEP this time and it was really neat!

Well I don't blame your friend. I am 30 something and I want to do it! I think every girl wants to be a princess for one day. But kids go through that stage where they think they are too cool for everything and I know it's coming soon with my DD. :sad2:

Well won't we all be surprised if its a girl! I'm still predicting a boy though. But don't label your chickens before they hatch... I learned that one the hard way. They told me twice that I was having a boy. We even had a boy baby shower. Then at 36 weeks, they said, "Ooops, it's a girl!" I could have strangled that doctor until his tongue fell out! :headache: I was thrilled to be having a girl, but I would have liked to have known that BEFORE my shower!

I can't wait to hear your news though!

I'm pretty certain that we'll be doing CS that day. I think I'm going to hang onto my ressie for the time being though and just see how much we get done on our first MK day. I hate being rushed too though. I feel rushed every day at home and I don't want to be like that on vacation.

We shall see, I really don't care either way. I can't believe you even had a boy baby shower, wow! That is quite the surprise. Eeek!

I am with the "hang on to the ADR for now" group. Just wait and see. Unless you have your heart set on eating there, you're likely going to cancel it, but plans can change and your day might not be as busy as you think. I'm sure you'll be super polite and remember to call and cancel even the day of (unlike me, who forgot once!).

That Alice costume is so cute! I bet she'll LOVE the tea!!! It sounds like a lot of fun. When my girls are a bit older (2 or 3 years) I want to take them to the regular tea at GF. I think it would be a fun girl thing to do.

Oh, and I love DD's LIST!!! She's too cute!

Your day sounds like so much fun and I LOVE her costume!!! You are going to have a blast that day!!! I'll vote for the keep the ADR too, you never know what is going to happen that day and by the end of the day you may want to have that sit down meal!!

OOOHHH ESP I love that parade!!! I really do!! Such great music and lights!

I love, love, love that "funky" Alice costume! So stinkin' cute!!

I'm with the others who have said to hang onto your LTT ADR just in case, but I bet you won't be going to it, like you said, it just seems like another big chunk out of your day. And, I've horrible dinner service at LTT twice - we were there forever!

Good luck meeting Rapunzel, I hope you don't have to wait too long!

Yep, a surprise for sure. We had lots of returns and exchanges to make!

I wouldn't say I have my heart set on eating there. It's somewhere I have wanted to try for a while, but it can wait.

I'd like to do the other tea as well. It is just soooooo expensive! It would have to be for a special occasion like her birthday or something. Definitely a one time treat. Or are you talking about the afternoon tea for all ages???? Now that would be fun for older girls and I don't think it is priced bad. They would both be fun though!

Yeah, I think we will at least hang onto it until we see how much we get done on our first MK day. Who knows, if we get lots of rides in that day we might do the meal after all. I'm not betting on it though. I just don't know what to expect with crowds at that time of year and that can make a huge difference in how much ground you cover.

I love, love, love that "funky" Alice costume! So stinkin' cute!!

I like the costume too the more I look at it. The stripped leggings are what make it for me! I really think DD liked it so much b/c the size was marked 'tween' and that was in her words... 'cool'.

Thanks for the heads up on the slow service at LTT. That would drive me crazy if I was ready to get out of there and onto the rides. :headache:

Honestly, I'm worried about Rapunzel. There is no way DH will wait an hour to see her. He HATES waiting for characters! We are going to need some real pixie dust that day I believe! :wizard:
