No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems: A Tremendously Tropical PTR

Just sayin' huh? Wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with your own fur baby, would it? :rolleyes1

I have had MANY cats in my lifetime and somehow I have never had an orange one. I think they are so pretty and they just look soft and fuzzy. :lovestruc We have two cats already that we rescued about 2 years ago. They were going to be euthanized. :sad1: So they came home with us and we love them lots! They are outside cats though. I have found that I just like that better. No litter box. But if I can talk DH into it, that little fluffy orange cutie will be joining our family when we get back. I can't help it. I'm a total sucker!
I'm a sucker for orange kitties. I wanted one for as long as I can remember growing up and when I had the chance to get a cat many years ago, the person only had one kitten left and it was my Sully Boy, no one wanted him because he was long hair. :sad2:

How could you resist this little kitten?! :cloud9:

Awe your kitty is adorable, I have had 2 orange kitties and they do seem to have the best temperments so.......................................

Rinky you just have to take that lil one into your home when you get back!

He is so cute! I can't imagine that no one wanted him. I think long haired cats are beautiful.

Isn't he cute! :cutie:

I have a feeling that we will be bringing one home when we get back. I just have to talk DH into it. He's not as much of a cat lover as I am. :confused3

It breaks my heart he was the last little kitten but he has had a good home. He's 7 now! We affectionatly call him Big Moose. :rotfl2:

When your DH is in a really good mood on your trip just mention that you think it would be great to bring little kitten home. :rotfl2:

You sound just like me. I have such a soft spot for anyone or anything helpless and innocent. I used to bring home every animal I ever found when I was little. My daddy said I was Ellie Mae Clampett! :rotfl:

YES, one month!! :woohoo: Our trips were exactly two months apart, so that means a month ago you were just arriving at Disney! Wow it doesn't seem that long! And i will be sure to take very good notes for you. So does that mean Hawaii is a no go?

Ellie Mae Clampett! :rotfl:

I didn't realize your trip was exactly 2 months after mine! Yep, it looks like Hawaii is out unless I can come across some decent airfare. So it just may be a Disney cruise for 2013!

One of our cats is a Maine Coon and she is quite large. Her name is Molly, but I almost always call her Big Mama! :) I bet Big Moose and Big Mama would make a cute couple!

I've already laid it on DH. He said no, but he really has no say so in such matters if we're really being honest here. :lmao:

Well I hope you can make it work out for Hawaii if that's really what you have your heart set on, but I think a Disney Cruise would be a darn good consolation prize if you can't! ;)

Just catching up again, it's been quite a week around here!

I think you have done a great job with your FE gifts. So thoughtful!

I hope everything is going well with the kitties! I remember when Marc and I took in two orphaned squirrels. They were quite a chore as they didn't even have their eyes opened when the fell from the nest.

I know that your DD must miss them terribly, hopefully she will get her favorite back after your trip!

Sully is part Maine Coon as well, that is where he gets his size. He is such a beast. Awww, Big Moose and Big Mama, in love forever.

Yeah, normally DHs don't have much say when it comes to animals. ;)

More FE gifts coming up soon. I've been working like a mad woman this weekend on the gifts for the adults and a few extras for the kids. It's been fun, but I'll be glad when I'm done!

I'm amazed that you fostered squirrels! Now THAT had to be a challenge!

I hope we can get a kitten after our trip too. We'll see.

Well since we are doing that whole match.com thing for our kitties, I think Molly, aka Big Mama, should be properly introduced to Sully! :rotfl: So here she is in all her glory.

I bet they would have some gorgeous babies together! ;)

(I've got better pictures of her but these were the only ones on my computer right now.)

WOO HOO! How exciting!! :banana::banana::banana:

Super quick update here... it's been another busy weekend.

I finally finished all my FE gifts. It feels so good to check that off my list!

I decided to make bookmarks for the older kids and the adults. I thought this would be super easy and quick. It was easy, but not quick! I found some designs here on the DIS that I liked and used those to make the bookmarks with my scrapbooking supplies. I also personalized all of them with the dates of our cruise.

Then I made goodie bags for everyone. I made bag toppers using the same design as the kid's bookmarks and put the cruise dates in the corner of those as well. I tried to find as much Disney themed candy as possible to go in them. I found Cars Pop Rocks, Tinker Bell Sweetarts, Pixy Stix (we call them pixie dust sticks!), and gummy pirate teeth! :rotfl: DD tried them all and said they were all good! :thumbsup2

I had also been looking for a gift for a one year old girl that is in the FE exchange. I finally found something cute for her. I got her a soft princess bath book. My DD used to have these and she loved them.

And last but not least, I finished my main gift for the adults. DD and I had decided that we wanted to bring back some sand as a keepsake from Castaway Cay. We always bring back shells or sand from our beach trips here at home too. So I thought that maybe some of the other cruisers would like to do the same thing. I really hope they like these.

I got small glass bottles with corks from Micheal's and put some sea glass in the bottom of each one. Then I made Disney Cruise Line tags from my scrapbooking stuff and tied some ribbon around the necks of the bottles. On the backside of the tags I put the date that we would be at Castaway Cay. Finally, I wrote a little poem to explain what to do with the bottles and rolled them up and stuck them inside.

And that's it! I'm done with my FEs and now I just have to get them delivered in one piece! ;)

And btw, in case you were wondering, I looked it up and from what I have read it is perfectly ok and legal to bring back "a small, souvenir amount of sand" from another country and CC. It is illegal to bring back more than that from some places though, which I did not know until recently. :confused3

For reference for any of you who may be doing a FE in the future, I got some wonderful ideas for homemade FE gifts from this thread here on the DIS. I also found the designs that I used there.

That's all for now. I'm off to church. Have a wonderful Sunday evening everyone!

I am impressed with your FE gifts! They are all amazing and I know that if I was participating that I would be THRILLED with all of those gifts. :goodvibes

Wow! You went all out with your FE gifts, I think everyone will love what you did!

I have a bit of sand, a tiny shell and some ocean water from CC. One of the gifts that Anita got in their FE were tiny bottles to fill and she was kind enough to give one to me

Rinky - You have put so much thought and effort into your FE gifts! I love them all and that bath book for the lil one yr old is just perfect!

You are amazeingly crafty :)

Michelle, you are too kind. I have to say that the tiny bottle that I filled at CC was my fave FE!

Oh wow those FE gifts are amazing! I could never have even come up with the concept! If I was in your group I would be so excited to get them!
