We're arriving on Tuesday (10/23) and leaving Sunday (10/28). We've been on the waitlist for VWL since late April for 10/26 and it never came through. In August, I called thinking we could switch to one of the other vacation clubs and there were almost no vacation club rooms anywhere for that night. I wound up making reservations at POR for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We would have preferred WL but there were no rooms available for 10/26.

I have gone with both of my daughters solo...they are now 28 and 30 but I remember those awesome trips Enjoy and I'll be praying that you will find a room..

There is also a District Attorneys Conference during this weekend and on into the following week. I know because my sister, who is attending the conference, invited me to join her. My DD(7) and I will be going alone for the first time and flying for the first time.
DH and DD(13) had other obligations here at home.

This conference is being held at Coronado Springs but they are overbooked and some of the conference attendees are booked at AS Sports (including us).

I had checked availability for this weekend and came up with nothing also. Maybe someone will cancel right here at the 5 day point and some rooms will open up for the OP. Good luck!

Coll-Wow, I am amazed at how much busier WDW is getting in the Fall, year after year. It kind of bums me out. I know you will have fun, but still, *YOU* didn't wait until the last minute, so you would think you would have had the oick of resorts.

noah-Thanks so much. I cannot imagine my DD being 28! I bet they love the memories, too. I was thinking about giving up on my room search, but your post kind of inspired me to try again.

I just grabbed Pop for that one night - Fri 10/26 for regular price of $99 per night. I have been looking for weeks because we get in at midnight, we didn't want to pay for more than a Value. We'll move to the Yacht Club for Sat & Sun as planned. Now we don't have to stay off-site for the 1st night!!!

yes, just about 30 minutes ago on disneyworld.com! I got lucky because it isn't there anymore-sorry I did see Poly available for that night on Yahoo travel about 45 minutes ago for $279.

That's the weekend that the Florida Democratic Convention will be at Y/BC, so I imagine a lot of rooms property wide will be taken up with either delegates or press during that weekend.

There was still some AP availability showing at ASMo and CBR earlier today. I was checking the 23rd to the 27th. I would think regular availability would be better.

I didn't know that. Hopefully they will be leaving early on Sunday the 28th since we are checking into BCV that day.

Maybe I was getting availability because I was putting in more than just the 26th? Maybe they are requiring a multi-night stay since they are so busy. I've been checking that same time period for a few weeks now (wishing for a Disney weekend, but not getting one ) and the availability is there one minute and gone the next. Don't give up!

LOL, I really do agree with you! When we go as a family we "party like rock stars" (minus the groupies and mind altering paraphenalia ) and splurge (although our splurges may seem budget to a wealthy person...it's all relative, I guess.) DH and I like a room with a balcony, we like to eat in the nicer TS establishments, we like to hit the parks for only a few hours at a time and "happy hour" is had every day. Now, with just DD and I it will be *all about the parks* and we will just eat CS and barely be in the room anyway.

TnT-I doubt you'll notice them, and I bet they'll be gone by Sunday afternoon. I know we could probably make some jokes about this particular group (like...are they as bad as the Brazilian tour groups? Lovebugs? Don't even get me started on Republicans! ) but then the thread would turn political and probably get locked, so I am refraining. Have a great trip! We are staying at BCV for the first time in Oct 2008.
