Was looking to book a last minute trip to the World Oct 26. Our FL resident seasonal passes expire Oct 28. We have been plenty this year, but wanted to squeeze one last trip in. DH can't go, so it would be just DD and I. Since we will be doing the parks "commando" I was more than willing to stay at a Value. I really don't want to spend a lot of $$ on a room.

THERE IS NOTHING AVAILABLE! *sob*:sad2:

I am usually such a "planner" when it comes to WDW, but I really wanted to do something spur of the moment for DD...she rode Space Mountain for the first time on our last trip, and she is still feeling cocky from that, so she is ready to do EVEREST and I want to make it happen for her!

Anyway, just mentioning it to ya'll and hoping someone knows of a way to check room availabilitythat I am not thinking of. There is nothing at the mods, either! The only thing the CM could find was Poly and YC concierge.:scared: Thanks so much!

That's the weekend that the Florida Democratic Convention will be at Y/BC, so I imagine a lot of rooms property wide will be taken up with either delegates or press during that weekend.

There was still some AP availability showing at ASMo and CBR earlier today. I was checking the 23rd to the 27th. I would think regular availability would be better.

Try Disney's website. I just checked regular availability and ASMo, ASMu and CBR all came up.

Really? I swear I was just there literally 5 minutes ago and checked all 4 value resorts and each time a sentence came up that said "nothing available, we checked other resorts as well, try a new search." (not exact wording, but you get the gist.)

Hmmm, well, thanks for checking, I will go back there again and look!

That's because it's the WORLD'S WORST travel website. Disney should be ashamed to put that piece of junke out there LOL!:rotfl:

LOL, carolA...it does seem awfully hard to navigate.

Anyway, I just put in my date (Oct 26) and travel party (1 adult, 1 child age 8) and I clicked on ASmu and this is what it said...

*We did not find any rooms available at Disney's All-Star Music Resort for the dates you specified. (We checked a few other Resorts as well.) Please change your travel dates or your Resort selection and try again. *

fl4fun....how did you get availability? Did you click on the resorts that came up? because yeah, it lists 23 resorts (I guess it lists all the resorts) but then when you click on them, there is no availability.

Should I contact dreamsunlimited, AAA...anyone?

For some reason, a am a little leary of staying offsite when it is just my DD and myself. Myabe that is being ridiculous, but I am not used to traveling as a solo adult and I am a bit of a chicken, I admit it!

I highly suggest calling disney reservations for current availability. Their website is just so awful! Do you know the 800 number? PM me for it if you don't. I'll share it with ya!

I always called...prefer speaking with a human:)

Good luck....nothing like last minute trips!!! Have fun with DD....in Feb, DD and I will be taking our 2nd annual Mom/DD trip:)

I am sooo sorry, ya'll...I should have put that in my original post.:guilty: I *DID* call, and the actual human I talked to, Dempsey, was VERY helpful and searched and searched and...nada, nothing...zilch! That's when I started poking around on the website and saw everything is booked up.

missin-Thanks! I calle 800-828-0228...maybe now I will try the "official" 1-407 number. Although I think they have the same inventory?:confused3

Disneybride-Awww, have fun! DD and I have only taken day trips together. this would be our first overnight...*IF* it happens!

Did you call the Swan/Dolphin directly? We just returned today and the Dolphin was the only thing available on fairly short notice. Got a AAA discount, too.

 We will be staying at BCV the 24-31... hope this doesn't effect the bus transportation. I'm assuming most people stay around the hotel for the convention.... :confused3

stucush-Thanks! I do love the Dolphin, but I will admit, this is a last minute budget trip and I wanted to spend *gulp*:guilty: about a hundred bucks a night on a room.

chris-I think you'll be fine! Have fun!

Hey keep trying...we had nothing for days for our trip and all of a sudden rooms came up. Sometimes large blocks are released.

On a side note, my DD is 3 1/2 and I can't wait for solo Mom and Daughter trips! She is still a bit of a handful so I need to bring DH for the next few years, but watch out when she gets older!

Good luck!

Thanks Sophie! I will keep trying...i just called the 407 number and I will say...CBR opened up, BUT, no dicounts on that room, and it was over $200 a night with tax. I just can't pay that for a quick trip! I know, i know, I am getting too picky now, right?:guilty:

That is sweet that you are looking forward to your mom/daughter trips! It never really occurred to me, but with DH having that pesky thing known as "work" :rolleyes1 that he has to go to, sometimes that's the only way we get to go, if it is just the two of us!

I tried to make ressies about three weeks ago for that weekend and nothing was available at any WDW resort! I was on the website and the phone trying to find something for hours!!!!

We were able to book the Dolphin which is not really a WDW resort, but the location is still great!

Keep checking and hopefully something will come up.

Friday must the problem b/c I had no trouble booking Saturday and Sunday using the CCF code, which expires today. Standard rooms were available at Sports, preferred rooms at Movies plus rooms at POR and CSR. Rates were $59 for a standard value and $110 for a standard moderate.

thanks, tarheel. Hmmmm, I guess I COULD do the Saturday night. If it is cheap enough, I would go for it. I am not familiar with the CCF code. Is it something available to everyone?

Mich- I just posted a comment on the S/D thread relating to a post you made. Funny that now I see you on this thread! I LOVE the Dolphin, and I think you will, too! You can see in my signature I have stayed there twice and just back from a recent trip.

I just went to the website and tried Oct 27 (Sat night) and there was nothing for ASmu, ASmo or POP. They gave me an option of WL at $389 for the night. Ummm, no thanks!:lmao:

Oh well, we may take a literal day trip, and just prepare ourselves for 3 hours up and 3 hours back home the same day. I will give DD the option, of course she can SLEEP on the drive, so it won't be so bad for her!
