... That's what my cousin said when he tried to make reservations for Nov 7-8. He's a local and was planning on joining us for part of our trip. He was stunned that there was not ONE SINGLE ROOM available at any level at any resort on property. Now, I'm really nervous about the crowds.

NJ schools are closed Nov. 6-7 for teachers convention. ALOT of people from NJ go down to Disney for a long weekend, that's probably why there are no rooms available.

I checked online..

There is room at the Grand Floridian
The contemporary
Coronado Springs
and Port Orleans Riverside

Also did he check the Swan and Dolphin??

My guess is that he's looking for the FL. Resident or AP rate which probably is sold out.

Keep trying, when people doesn't pay their reservations, the rooms are released.

It is Super Soap weekend so it will be VERY busy! It normally sells out for Super Soap weekend, everyone wanting to go meet their favorite ABC soap stars! Can't say I blame them, some of them are hunks! HEHE.

Much of November is completely sold out. Between the Fairytale Vacation Package and various conventions, etc., November is going to be one busy month.

Keep trying. You just never know what might open up.

Yes, that's what my cousin said. The CM said it was Super Soap weekend and that's why. He was shocked that everything from suites to the All Stars was taken for the weekend. It was also close to their closing time and the CM was VERY cranky. I'm glad to hear that there are some rooms available. He wants to stay a the POR with us.

Well, sometimes I do get castmembers on that reservations line who just say "nothing available" no matter what I ask for, and after a few of these "nothing available"s, I quickly get the message that the person just doesn't want to look for anything and wants to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. When that happens, I say goodbye, and promptly call right back, and the next person I get usually will offer at least something to me. It took me a while to realize this kind of thing was happening, but it does from time to time. Especially when they say absolutely no rooms in all of Disney World, even suites, are available, that's a typical clue that that person just doesn't want to help you. There's almost always SOMETHING, even if only a few concierge rooms or suites left. Just hang up the phone and call right back. While it's true that you may not have much in the way of choices during that weekend, I doubt that there's absolutely nothing available, if you're willing to pay for any room type.

Well, my cousin called again tonight.. same story: No Rooms! We both tried online and it was true. YIKES! I don't know, maybe calling in the evenning isn't the best strategy for snagging a cancellation.

Anyhow, he called the Dolphin (Swan was booked full) and was able to get a room for the weekend at a nice price, too. We just mentioned the All Ears Net and he got a $147.50 rate! We're not at the same resort, but at least we'll be there at the same time.

I don't know if it is still true but I was once told to call at 10 am Florida time to make a reservation as by then many of the cancellations have come in. Also you might have him try a couple days ahead as everyone has to cancel by a certain date of lose their deposit (I don't know if it differs with different resorts). There are also a lot of nice hotels that are a short walk to the Marketplace and the Swan and

KEEP CALLING - I received a postcard with a great rate and tried calling every other night for two weeks to make a reservation for the first week in December and was told there were no rooms available at that rate. I was so depressed. I had my park hopper tickets ready. I already had Christmas party tickets. I had the week off. And I really did not want to pay rack rate. Finally last Friday I called around 2:00 in the afternoon and there was no problem in getting my reservation. I can not wait. We went several years ago at that time and it was great. I really loved the snow.
